My experience with getting tons of mods to run smooth together

Ok this is just my personal experience, but if your having issues with mods and you cant figure out why and everyone else is saying how the mods your tying to run together are running great, all Idid was get rid of the mod manager and install everything manually. Install your mods in the order you would run them,

test themod to make sure its working properly before installing the next. Dont worry about overwriting somthing, screwing up and not being able to go back to the way you were.

Just look at what your installing and where its going, are the files replacing other files? if so, back up the files that are.

Make sure you have BOSS to automatically sort your mods. Check to see if your mods are clean after running BOSS.

If you do have dirty mods download and use TES5Edit and learn how to clean your mods. Its actually very easy, just a few steps for each mod.

Make sure you read EVERY word in the readme's that come with each mod.

After I started relying on me instead of the mod managers or Steam to install everything, I noticed a huge improvement in how smooth everything runs.

PS: I also stopped using Steams mods as well. I only use mods downloaded from the nexus and install everything manually.

Again this is my opinion. Just sharing my personal experience and not telling anyone how they should deal with mods.

I completely agree with your sentiments. I have nothing against mod managers, I just feel more in control when doing things manually. Yes there is a learning curve but it is worth it in the long run. On top of that you get a real sense of appreciation for all the work that goes into the modding. No need to ask a mod author if they can change the weight of your favorite sword when you can do it yourself in like 30 seconds!

Completely agree with you. Most people should at least learn how to manual install if they plan on only using a manager.
