endgamecutter
the joke: i would gather an army of adoring fans, who, with their voices of BY AZURA would cause so much pain and suffering to the enemy's minds, that they would commit suicide, and never be heard from again! psychological warfare for the win! the real: i would evacuate all citizens who wouldn't serve as militia, and barricade all entrances to the city. i would petition the neibouring provinces and cities for aid, and have alot of wall archers, mages, and of course, me, the player, and use the immence ammount of lag (or bodie's of my soldiers) to get to choke points in the enemy's lines and cast midas fire breath to push my way through their forces, and since its fire, they'll all use their warped minds to see the odds stacked against them (dawn of war chaos reference) and that would destroy their morale, causing them to flee or be wiped out. if i had access to siege engines, i would position them on the walls to berrate enemy forces, and my foresters would snipe commanders from behind, out, and I'd have a regiment of cavalry waiting in hiding somewhere where they could quickly trample the enemy army from behind in a heroic (idiotic is an understatment here) trampling spree. madman132
Someone just has to be all clever about it lol. Fine if you want to click on every soldier in an invading army and press 'kill' be my guest. I say 'kill' because 'killall' would kill your army as well which sort of defeats the point. :PThats one possibility, but i meant the Playercharacter, not his allmighty Weapon, the console. The PC is so ridiculously strong that he can mow through enemies like a combine. Most of the enemies will be killed by Fireballs and Arrows from their Friends, which missed the Playerchar... For "real" i'd have to know how strong the Enemy is. First Things first, If i knew i am going to be attacked, i'd gather Food. Lots of Food. then, i would resort to biological Warfare. Defenders in ancient Castles often collected their excrements, i.e. poo in a Bucket and throw that bucket onto the Enemies. Coli Bacteria can disable an Enemy force quite quickly. For this, i would need not only poo, i would need some Wood, to build Catapults. I'll take that Wood out of the roofs of the City, if there is anything. I'd like Fire Arrows of the Enemy do less damage to the City. I would tear down some Buildings in the City and scatter the rubble outside, i could use it to make some Areas less accessible for the Enemy, furthermore, since i evacuated most of the People who are not fit to fight, their Houses woud be empty anyways. The would be excellent hiding Spots for enemy Spies, so i tear them down. Where the houses once where, there will be Food. I need at least some freshly grown Food to maintain the Health of my troops. They wont be prone to diseases when the enemy decides to throw Sh..buckets over my Wall. Another Thing is Water. Secure large Supplies of it. Dig some Wells. If you think you have enough Wells, dig some more. First of all, a Well can be poisoned, better to have yet another one. Secondly, you will need lots of Water for a little military Trick. The boiling hot Tar method is a very well loved method to repel Attackers. Pour some hot tar over them, they wont like it. Now, have Water filled in hollow Iron Balls. Place them on the Ground where the Attackers will likely try to, well, attack.Pour the molten Tar over them, they still wont like it. But they are going to dislike the water, which will quickly come to its boiling Point to burst out of its containment, dispersing the molten Tar and iron shrapnells over some Distance, even more. Another Thing out of the great Book of gruesome old tactics are Wooden sticks, placed into the Water around the Walls, in this case, lake Rumare.the Sticks are to be large enough to impale anyone who would onto them because he cant see them. Now, the Water is something to be mentioned: the Water around medieval Cities wasnt very clean. Basically, it was a big toilet. You could place some Stakes in the shallow Water and no one would see them. The stakes will slowly rot, anyone who has the poor fortune of "finding" one will not be killed or even hurt severly, but he will be unable to go further and die from disease almost certainly. But not before he spreads Disease to everyone in vicinity. This is a somewhat simple Infection, but with "Doctors" who would try to exorcise evil Demons from you, well, you're dead. I would keep anything clean, dirt can lead to Sickness. Just have your Soldiers keep everything somewhat clean and give them decent Food and they will be A okay. Most Sieges ended because one of the Parties couldnt endure any longer, most Casualities came from Diseases, not from military Actions. Thomas1616
That's a pretty well done plan for a siege I have to say. Possibly the best battle plan here. I salute you sir.
Aisis
Well, I think the best start would be to imagine YOUR army taking the city down first. The city can actually be surrounded by an enemy fleet and attacked by canons from the ships. Frstly - try not to get cornered by an enemy fleet. There is only one route the ships could take, so there should be an easy way to protect it. If the ships got there (masked as cargo ships or what ) - have some archers with flame arrows prepared on the curtain wall and of course, what do you have the Arcane University for? They will never get a better chance to test those new fireball and inferno spells then at a time like this
AzirAphale001
First of all I would recruit all the bandits that live in the Sewers to guard the Sewer Exits.I would then send all civillians who are unable to fight to hole up in Vilverin (after having some more of my Bandit Buddies clear it out) along with some of the Soldiers.I would then light the Imperial Beacon to request aid from the other Cities. Then I would shut and lock the Main Gates, post some Mages to guard thier entrance, and post some more soldiers at the Prison Entrance (thereby sealing off all three entrances to the City). When the opposing Army arrives (finaly) I would send all my archers the the battlements to rain arrows down upon them.At night, when everyone's asleep, I would send out my Dark Brotherhood Assassins to slaughter them in their sleep (for a reasonable price, of course). There. Done and dusted. Unfortunatly, the Imperial Treasury in now empty (partly because all the Assassins I had to hire, partly because of all the money I stole), the White Gold Tower (and the White Gold House) is on fire (because of the beacon which didn't actually exist and was infact a pile of crates filled with Tamika Vintage) and all the civillians are locked in an Ayleid Ruin with no way of getting out. But it's all good because I've already looted the battlefield, the shops and everyone's houses, let loose all the prisoners and I'm now well on my way to my camp at Dive Rock to lie low until the heat (and the Tower) has died down and I can fence my stolen goods and resume the life of a rich Nobleman with no-one the wiser as to my actions. madman132
Hiring bandits could prove to be a bad Idea, since they are not known to be the most Loyal subjects under your Command. Regarding Ships: Well, even if the Passage by Leyawin wasnt blocked due to Reasons of "Programmers had to little time to make the City as they planned to", the Niben river isnt the most Ship friendly Waterway. A very big Problem any Force hellbend on destroying the IC would have is: How do we get there? Landing North of Anvil, so the Army wont have to fight the Anvillians first would be good. Well, anvil would be somewhat easy to assault, but it would take time, in which some People may walk out of the Battle to warn the People of Kvatch. If Kvatch is there, i.e. before the Daedry Attack or with a rebuidling Mod, Kvatch would be a somewhat good Position to defend. Well, the Army wants to destroy the IC, not Kvatch. But they have to eat, so many Armies moving through enemy teritory combine the useful with the useful and plunder enemy Supplies. Farms, Depots and the like. the Army wont take that much supplies with it on the Way, which increases its Movement Speed. Furthermore, the Food that the army uses can not help the Enemy. If any Army just roams through the Countryside they will do massive Damage to the Economy. Any Followers of that Army will not be able to actually follow them in the same Path, because there is no Food. Furthermore, if the Army plunders everything and burns it down, any Pursuers of the Army will have to deal with Diseases, spreading like wildfire with the rotting Corpses lying around. Survivors will get sick and die, making sure this Land is uninhabitable for some time. In the TES World, there will be Ghosts roaming around, attacking anyone who wants to settle there. In the medieval reality, every rotting Corpse is basically a Plague Mine. With Kvatch in the Way, that is going to prove difficult. With Kvatch burned down, the Survivors will take any Food they can carry with them and burn down the Farms there. An aproaching Army will find nothing but rubble and Ash, but no Food.So they have to make a little detour, which will take time. Time which will put to use to greatly improve the Defenses in Skingrad. Even if Skingrad isnt the Target of the Invasion, it will prove useful to have a Foothold right in the Path of the approaching Army. The Army will have to move around Skingrad, maybe they decide to stop by in Chorrol. In that Case, Chorrol is pretty much toast. Well, there would be a Defense, but it will fall farly quickly. Not before a significant amount of Soldiers of the Army are killed of course. And not before i got Messengers out to report on enemy Strength and tactics. And, lastly, not before i put so much Boobytraps in there that the Town is known in the Future as "Traptown". If that cant be arranged, i'd burn the town to the Ground with the Help of Tar or a little Magic. I'd set Chorrol on Fire, with as many enemy soldiers in it as possible. Another Scenario would be an Assault from the topal Bay. Ships can not be "concealed" as Cargoships. Maybe one or two, but not enough to contain enough Soldiers to do real Damage to the IC.A Fleet would have to take Town Leyawin, which would serve to inform me about Strength and tactics of the Enemy. To take Leyawin is going to be costly. Sure, you can bombard the town with cannons, but you can also bombard Ships with so many cannons that they are too heavy for any Ship. Nevertheless, any Army hoping to get to the IC must take down Leyawin, which will show me how they do Things and how i can prevent them from doing things. Next Stop: Bravil. I doubt that they have more in their Arsenal then Piss and Decadency but it will hold them off until i can destroy the big brigde north east of Bravil. The rubble will serve to block enemy Ship movement. I have plenty of time now to fortify my Defenses. Next Scenario would be an Assault from Black Marsh. Unlikely, most of that army wont even get to Cyrodiil, Black Marchs Wildlife and the Poisonous Plants will prove as a good defense.Argonians could get through that fairly easy, but its unlikely they would do so, the Province got integrated into the Empire by treaty, not by War. The native Argonias are pretty effective in governing themselves and the Empire saw no Reason to interfere that much, maybe because its very difficult to even move in there. They would rather fight to defend the Empire instead of living under an Occupation force of that unknown enemy. An Invasion from Morrowind is somewhat more likely, but the Army ould have to get across the Valus Mountains.Crossing Mountainranges is a bit difficult. The Army would have to bring their own supplies, since they cant plunder anything there. They will move very slowly and some Soldiers will freeze to death before even getting anywhere. Additionally, its a Gamble: If anyone sees the Slow moving Army, they can warn their People which could scout the Enemy Movements and then ambush them. a rather small force could take out a whole Army. Fresh well fed Soldiers ready for Battle against worn out Soldiers who probably froze some of their toes off. Go figure. :D Anyone who likes to come through Skyrim will have to deal with Nord, loyal to the Empire because it lets them do their business without interfering too much. They are used to the cold and trained in elven and yokudan Tactics. After that, they would probably like to eat something. Bruma would be the next Source of Food. Well, after their Brothers have been slain, the Bruma Nords will be pretty motivated to kick the asses of whoever is left. The Blades at Cloud Ruler will lend a Hand, knowing that their big stonebunker wont be of any use anyways. From Cloud ruler you could mount a backstab attack to any force laying siege to bruma. But thats about it. CRT can not be taken easily, true, but you can walk around it pretty easy. An Invasion from High Rock is also unlikely. Steep Mountains and a River, maybe if a Warlord deliberatly wants to kill off most of his Army before even touching Cyrodiil he would come from there. xerob95
defending imperial city eh? First i would tell all the people in the city to gather up in the market and tell them that fighting is the only thing they can do to save their home..then call in all people from fighters guild and mages guild and theives guild (im one of Them)although they are theives they are not cowards.. i would use the theives as scouts, archers, ambushersand the mages as healers. and fighter guilders to protect the militia.ill put archers on the walls, soldiers protecting the gates and civilans.. we are not going to be many soldiers becuse that idiot Ocato wont bring any legions.recruit any mercenarys.. most bosmers with bows and nords with axe when the the attack begins.order all theives and some sneak able militia to go through the sewers out of the city and ambush the enemies and drawing their atension. then ill send the watch through the gate and suround them. that would almost make a victory.. HWalker
I would open up the console, type TGM, and then type ShowSpellMaking. I'd then create Damage Health 100 points in 100 feet, Shock Damage 100 points in 100 feet, Fire Damage 100 points in 100 feet, and Frost Damage 100 points in 100 feet. ALL IN ONE SPELL. I'd then use it like a maniac and kill EVERYTHING HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahaha...... ha....... ha.......
