Private Messages Cut Off Posts Due To Text Character Count @ 12861

So in private messages I tend to talk at length about mod development among friends. We also use it as a way to sort of display this part of pre-production or exploring ideas in game design & development. We used to could have nearly unlimited text count because there were some very long posts, but none ever got cut off.

 

I'm guessing that today a 38583 count post was made, but Nexus Forums cut that off at 12861 which destroyed the other 66% of the post forever. I can't remember what was put into that, and there was no warning. It just got deleted. That isn't good. Especially since we used to could post however much we wanted inside private messages.

 

Then while images or YouTube videos might post in here, we can only post so many, it's not a good situation for doing that. As a example you could post a bunch of links in Discord to Steam games, and it would show a preview of those games with a picture & description from Steam similar to how we post in YouTube video links. That might help if it doesn't do that already on Nexus Forums.

 

Come to think of it, they do have limitations on private messages in Discord. Then those preview window links or embedded videos tend to glitch out or display both the link, and the embedded window preview. Anyway, that kind of stuff is really useful for us when we are talking about video game design/development, mod development, conversations, displaying, or just writing someone that enjoys entertaining PMs.
