miraslovbaros85
Hi, I started modding it because I watched a video-guide on Youtube, the content creator's name is DarkPopulous. Hope it helps, regards.
dubiousintent
I recommend anyone read the entire "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article to understand the differences between this game and others you may have experience with; especially if this is your first attempt to play a modded FNV or it's been more than a year since you last did so. It is designed for someone who has never played a modded PC game before, so it tries to avoid making any assumptions. There are only a few mods that require other mods just to run correctly, such as NVSE and "JIP LN NVSE". These are listed in that wiki article. Most other mods that require yet other mods are "patches" (aka "dependencies") to the parent mod (aka "Masters") that they are changing. Usually these are needed to make two different "master" mods work with each other because they both are affecting the same part of the game (e.g. modding a given weapon) in a way that otherwise conflicts. Yes, this can become a major PITA to work through, but no one is forcing you to use any combination of mods. You can reduce such potential conflicts by avoiding mods that make "overhauls" or attempt to do similar things as another mod. It is highly recommended to add mods by priority of their importance to your style of play, and one at a time with testing after adding each. Saves a lot of time and frustration over the long run. Video guides are fine for identifying mods you are interested in, but the number of possible combinations is nearly infinite and they can't test them all. Even the best of them tend to skip over some install aspects that are less common. You have to take the time to understand how mods interact to get a stable game. -Dubious-
pbacorey
Just recently, I finally picked up PC games again...like literally within the past 2 weeks...after a near 5 year hiatus. Modding is fun for me, but wow, has it gotten complicated. The last time I was on here, I used NMM for this, but for Fallout 4, and it was pretty simple to do. Modding on FalloutNV is apparently so complicated, or maybe I'm doing it wrong. I of course picked up the Premium, which still does not show, especially here on the forum which is irritating, but I'll live I suppose. Next, I downloaded Vortex and installed, and it seems like every mod has a dependency. That's way more complicated that it used to be, but it could be simpler. I messed around with it for a couple hours after picking it back up again a couple weeks ago, but put it down when things got overly-complicated as I was not able to get a single mod to work. I just want to mess around on here, so looking for a godmode, all weapons, all perks, and unlimited ammo setup to start. After I searched that, found, and downloaded (which was a cumbersome feat in and of itself due to constant mod failures), I noted that the NONE of the mods worked. Not sure if I'm doing it wrong or if I'm just missing something. Any advice would certainly help!
