anjenthedog
I'm beginning to get a bit annoyed at the number of seemingly immortal "monsters" I'm encountering, usually somewhere in the Pale, but also elsewhere with less frequency. Wolves, Trolls, and ice wahtchamacallits so far. Sometimes they're in battle with some NPC, sometimes with each other, sometimes I encounter them alone. Is this by design? (random enemies that suffer damage noise and visuals - blood - when being hit but sustain zero damage even when hit with 260+ rated weapons, shouts etc). Meanwhile their hits are damaging my health bar. FWIW, I recently switched to expert mode, so idk, maybe that has something to do with it? Like, beyond X level play, you experience situations where your only rational reaction is to flee? I get that certain scripted characters are set to essential mode, but random "monsters"? I've even tried kill on some and they...just... don't... die. Disable or recycleactor are the only ways I know to get rid of them, and even with recycleactor, they usually respawn close by almost immediately. Help? Algabar
It's impossible to say anything definitive without a load order. Just some thoughts: This is definitely NOT normal game behaviour. Compared to other adventure games like e.g. "The Witcher" series, Skyrim even on "legendary" difficulty is a joke. It's very easy. Some special guys like the Ebony Warrior can hit quite hard, but these hard enemies are always bosses of some sort. You shouldn't have to fear a pack of wolves. My suspicion is, that combat mods and/or creature overhauls are responsible for this strange behaviour. Look for anything that changes creatures and/or combat difficulty. It's been a long time since I used wildlife overhauls, but some of them can make the game really challenging - which is intended by the mod authors... I happened to have installed (temporarily) Wild Skyrim a few weeks ago. maybe something it did while it was installed caused the issue. (it's been since removed, but maybe it left a residual behind). At least I know that it's not supposed to be this way. I can live with the occasional invulnerable foe (as long as I can run away) until I shake it out.
