nuska
Yup, that kind of thing is much easier for them to do on Beth's side as they have professional programmers and artists who are highly familiar with the engine and the content creation pipeline. For modders to reverse-engineer that with the associated models, textures, animations and scripts would be an enormous effort that I won't fault anyone for not wanting to do. There's a reason games generally don't ship with that kind of features ever. Edited November 11, 2012 by nuska
slainia
I really hope some mod team, or modder decides to indeed take on the mammoth task. It's just an aspect that seems "do-able" to a certain degree, but would take quite a bit of effort to accomplish. It's definitely a mod though that will HIGHLY create more immersion. I know aplestormy (the creator of the enhanced town and villages mods) is working on a winter version of whiterun: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=102323061 Surely this can be expanded, no? l think you're really, really oversimplifying it.That mod is awesome in concept, but that's all it is - a proof of concept. lf i had to guess, l'd say the snow never leaves whiterun - it's permanent. PLEASE NOTE - This is not a season mod! It is just an insight into what Whiterun would look like, with seasonal changes. If you do not want the snow to be present, you will have to un-install the mod. yep, permanent. All it's meant to do is show what whiterun would look with snow. It was applied manually, and if you want to get rid of it you have to uninstall the mod.
