Sky Flashing since New update

Hey Guys,

 

I've just got back into Skyrim (After 1.8 update) and now when I look around the sky flashes black or white. I've also noticed that the distant object textures have started to do it aswell. I have never had this problem before and I thought it may have been a mod, however, after a reinstall it's still not fixed.

 

Any ideas?

I am having a bit of a similar issue - I thought it was my graphics card at first so I RMA'd it and got a new nvidia card. The exact same problem happens for me :-( I have over 250 hours played and only within the last month or so have I been having these problems.

 

For me, the whole screen (sometimes in particular the sky) will flash either white or black. It does not matter where I am in Skyrim, from the dense forest region near falkreath to the empty area of land near whiterun. Does your problem happen nearly always? or does it happen after a indefinite period of time?

 

Hopefully we are having the same issue, so it will be easier to narrow down weather or not its a hardware or software issue :)

I'm having those problems to. I thought it might have been Z-Fighting but apparently thats only on like mountains. My trees and distant objects also tend to flicker around a lot. I don't think its a hardware problem, or maybe, because I recently installed a new AMD before the 1.8 update and it was working fine, no glitches. Now with the update its just being a pain in the ass.

I've actually fixed my problem now. It turns out that the 12.9 driver update for the AMD was what had bugged it. So I just uninstalled the Catalyst thing and basically the whole thing...and reinstalled with version 12.8 and now it works! :D
