suppathyme
Hello all. This is my first official mod request, so forgive me if there are any mistakes in making this suggestion. I've been playing the latest Assassin's Creed game lately which, for those of you who don't know (or have been living in the wilderness) is set in colonial America during the revolutionary war. Watching and playing this game inspired me to pick up another that I had set down awhile back, Mount and Blade: With Fire and Sword. Before this recent jump into the colonial era I had pretty much no interest in muskets/cavalry/Napoleonic type themes but the new upgrades to the Musket Mod by Ghosu have started me wondering on what a colonial experience in Skyrim might be like. I was a little surprised to see that there were no clothing or armor mods to accompany this new addition of firearms (including Mikloud's Flintlock Pistol which is a ton of fun). While Hothtrooper44's Seadog Armor fits pretty well for the pirate look, I was hoping that someone would come along and create a colonial era soldier/hunter/militia uniform. Before anyone says anything, I know this is completely lore-unfriendly, I'm just putting this out there for those out there who appreciate messing around with the freedom skyrim offers us. Anyway, here are some examples of what I'm envisioning... http://www.withfireandswordgame.com/sites/default/files/cart4.jpgI like the breeches and boots type look on these guys...plus who doesn't love a good tricorne hat? Nobody, that's who. http://www.napolun.com/mirror/napoleonistyka.atspace.com/img/french_armor.jpgHeavy armor options? http://www.watermelon-kid.com/family/images/Washington-colonial.jpgBoom. This guy is dressed like a badass. Now can you imagine your Khajiit in these digs? It's musket time. http://www.napolun.com/mirror/napoleonistyka.atspace.com/img/wirtembergian_troops_napoleonic_wars.jpghttp://www.gloversregiment.org/images/uniforms.jpgPretty much completely captures what I'm going for. http://www.cowanauctions.com/itemImages/taa2507.jpgJaySus swords has a lot of good swords to go with this concept, and the musket mod now has bayonets to complete the image, but I'll just throw this one in just in case. So, in closing, I'll just say that this can go two ways. In its simplest form this idea can be just a standalone armor/clothing set. The most ambitious this could go would be strapping every guard and NPC out there with a musket, a sword, and a random colonial outfit and going crazy. I realize that there's pretty much no modder out there that would do all that work but a boy can dream, can't he? Thanks for your time.
JanusForbeare
Watching and playing this game inspired me to pick up another that I had set down awhile back, Mount and Blade: With Fire and Sword. You have good taste. WFaS is my favourite M&B mod, and is a pretty awesome book, too. Especially when you consider how old it is (the book, I mean - Henryk Sienkiewicz published it in 1884). Anyways, I'm all for this kind of cosmetic overhaul, and there have been some similar requests made in the past. I really hope someone with modelling talents takes this idea and runs with it... now that we have the weapons, we really need some uniforms to go with them. WarlordThorvald
I personally find this a great idea. It could even be one big mod, preferably: got some lore for this like, a force similar to XVIII-th C British Empire sends expedition to Tamriel. They arrive by ships, they set up camps, they battle both the Empire and the Stormcloaks.. or, such clothes/uniforms can be in use by Empire, several Centuries after Skyrim's storyline. That would be totally awesome... There is no good video game for this period except for strategy games, and I'm not much of a strategist, prefer to get my sword, my musket and blow my way through enemies with my squadmates for the glory of the Empire or whoever I'm fighting for... ;)
darkofan
This would be the absolute coolest mod ever!!!! ...I actually collected a bunch of various, colonial/ 16-19th century style mods, from other moders, and implemented them throughout my game with the creation kit so I, myself, can play in a semi colonial style world, but it is very crude and cannot be uploaded for other users, if someone could amass all the mods that fit this outline, or just make new ones, it would be awesome!!! If you want me to list all the mods I use for this I will, just ask. :) Edited May 13, 2013 by darkofan

toffebadger
Great news all! A mod called Pirates of the Pacific_The Protection of the Elder Scroll by LordKarnak (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29443/?) has what you are looking for. Whilst being a quest/player home mod it comes with three types of clothing which almost identical to uniforms of British soldiers during the napoleonic wars. To get them you need to follow the quest along until you are fighting an Imperial ship where the soldiers who you are fighting are wearing these armours (this will take less than 10 minutes). You can simply loot the corpses and wear the uniforms. (Skip to 6:10 and you can see the fight on the Imperial ship and the uniforms). I hope that this was helpful!
