Mod Manager and Windows 8

Just upgraded a computer to Windows 8. Loaded the Mod Manager and when I went to a selected mod and selected to "download with manager" I got the initial popup screen but when I went to "Allow" I got a message that there was "no app for that ".

I think its a Windows 8 setting but wondering if anyone has been able to get around it.

Thanks

I assume you actually mean 'Nexus Mod Manager' (NMM)? (There are several 'mod managers', such as OBMM and Wrye Bash.) In that case, you should take this to that forum. This one is for mod problems, and 'mod managers' are applications.

That said, it looks like the error comes when NMM (or whatever) is trying to install the mod, and file extension of the mod is not associated with an executable application. In this case that app would probably be NMM. However, I don't use it and could be wrong. The linked forum is your best bet.

I NEVER had a problem with Nexus Mod Manager working . I have windows 8.1 . Only very seldom would my mod crash . And that's because I probably had some conflicting Mods. You should always check " Administrator's permission" and your Antivirus settings . ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE AVAST antivirus like myself. I AM a NEWB when it comes to mods in any game . Hell im almost in my late fifties I did not have a pc when I was even in high school. Different PCs would have different reactions to Mod Managers I guess. I was on a Toshiba Laptop now im on a Dell inspirion with AMD processor and ATI Radion . Just thought I would share this with you good folks .
