Castle Volkihar Renovation

Hello Community!

I hope this thread is right here, if not please put it to the right section.

I have modded Castle Volkihar to make it a home for my non-vampiric Dragonborn, who has sided with the Dawnguard. Seeing as how the Volkihar Vampires were defeated and the Castle uninhabited now, I thought why not should my Dragonborn and Serana move in (especialy since Serana would be the rightful heir to the Castle lorewise). I wanted to share with you, what I have done so far and would like to hear some feedback.

First off: I used the following mods to start with. Castle Volkihar Overhaul and Have some Class

The first one removes most of the dirt in the Castle, the second one cleans the dining area of blood and corpses. So thanks for these mods creators for their work. Then I modded the Volkihar Overhaul myself a bit and (as I am not so good with the Creation Kit yet) I changed the Castles Interior a bit via Console. I also spawned some new NPC's, which I took from the Section of unused Skyrim NPC's, that don't appear in the game normaly. What I did via the Creation Kit was ...

- Changing the Music of Castle Volkihar to the Standard Castle/Palace Music.

- Removing all Dirt, Cobwebs and rubble that was left the floors of the Castle.

- I opened the Door to the Courtyard (normaly impossible for non-vampire)

- I changed Seranas Room to its normal status (before it was uninhabited)

And here are some Screenshots to show you what I have done via Console ...

Here you see the Main Hall. I have changed it into a normal dining Hall, with no blood, corpses etc.

I have also removed the Banners at the walls and replaced them with the Dawngaurds Banners.

This is the Smithy. I have not changed much. I replaced the Coffin here with a normal, noble bed.

The NPC here is Makhael Abbas, and unused NPC I spawned here as the Castles Blacksmith.

This is the Castles Barracks, all Coffins have been replaced with normal, noble beds.

The Blood Chalice Room. The NPC here is Vidding, the Castles Caretaker and Cook.

And here is Lord Harkons former chambers, which now serve as the Bedroom for my Dragonborn ...

Removed the torture Rack and replaced it with a bed, the carpet is from Sovngarde, as is the Banner.

I rearanged the writing area a bit and also placed a map of skyrim on the writing table.

The Castles Cathedral was a rather big project. I removed all the Dirt and rubble and also the bones and the Altar of Molag Bal.

Within the ashes of Lord Harkon stands an Altar to Arkay now, overseen by a Priestress of Arkay (spawned via Console ...)

This is the Castles pier outside the Hall. The broken Ship is now replaced by a functioning one. A true Nord deserves that.

Here we see the Castles Watchtower. I added some sort of Stable with hay, were I can place my horse.

And above sits the Watchmen, looking out for trouble. (He normaly appears only once, when you first visit the Castle)

And last but not least is Valericas Study Room, all cleaned up and freed from cobwebs ...

I was also able to convince her to return to the Castle (normaly in the game, not with console).

So that's what I have done so far, I would be glad to hear some feedback or suggestions.

Any one else who tried to renovate the Castle for a non-Vampire via Console or the CK?

Greetings, Schreckensjul
