What values in Fo4edit control the triggering of the ranged scope overlay?

I'm working on an optics mod and have a scope that's supposed to trigger the overlay when aiming, but instead it's zooming slightly to the back of the scope meshes as though it were a see-thru scope. Can somebody point me in the right direction here? Pretty new to modding and have had trouble finding this sort of thing in any of the tutorials. Thanks in advance for any help.
