First time want to play Skyrim - need help

Hy. I really need help. For a first time I want to play Skyrim, and I don't know what patch to install, what DLC and how to install mods?

So If someone can write me step by step In what order I need to install patches, DLC and mods.

I write some mods here that I think are good, but If someone have better suggestion, you can write here.

 

Install:

 

1. Skyrim - game

2 What patches? What order?

3. What DLC? What order?

 

There are some really nice mods I wish to install:

 

- Some HD or better textures?

- Duel - Combat Realism

- Immersive Armors

- Dark Coat of Plates

- Hedge Knight Armor

Or some other armors, close to real medieval armors

-JaySuS Swords

 

 

Basically better graphic, better combat (I'm a M&B fan), realism weapons and armors.

I want to play more like some medieval game, I don't like magic and spells - only combat.

 

I hope someone can help me. Thank you !!!

You install the game first then steamworkshop updates your game for you and you buy what DLC you want but go"dawnguard" then hearthfire but not sure if it matters but use BOSS to load mods http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6

Download the Nexus Mod manager: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/modmanager/

This makes it very easy, just use the download with manager link on mod pages.

 

Install the unofficial patches:

Skyrim: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19

Dawnguard: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23491/ (IF you buy the DLC)

Hearthfire: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25127 (IF you buy the DLC)

 

Install SkyUI: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3863

Install Immersive armurs: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19733 (this includes hedge knight armour)

 

Thats basically my absolute essential list of mods bar SkyRe, but SkyRe isn't really for beginners. The rest of what you want to download is fine, just make sure when downloading armour mods that they are not already a part of the Immersive Armor pack.

If this is your first time playing Skyrim, I highly recommend you play Skyrim vanilla, or default, without any mods installed. The satisfaction you get from the overall "completion" of the game that the mods provide in a second playthrough makes it that much sweeter. Not to mention that it's very easy for a newcomer to get lost in all the mod quirks that come with the perks (hey, that rhymes!). Edited November 13, 2012 by leetgamer

Seconded. There's only ever a first experience of Skyrim, and it's a pretty great experience to start with.

True enough, though I think SkyUI and unofficial patches are vital to enjoying skyrim.

I'm still on my first playthrough - all I have installed right now are Dawnguard and the official hi-res pack.

 

Once I "complete" the game this way I'll be looking at some mods though.

Well official content will not really affect your gameplay of the vanilla game. So Dawnguard and Hearthfire are okay. And I agree with the above posters. After having falloutNV sit around for a while in my steam account I decided to play it a month ago. Since I had played Skyrim and was now "mod crazy", I added a bunch of mods right away. I stopped playing after 4 hours or so because of odd crashes, too many followers, bugged followers etc. FONV followers are harder to make because it lacks the built in faction scripts that Skyrim has so people tend to mess up the scripting.

 

Also after playing Skyrim, you realize that other games don't come close as far as graphics, NPC interaction, immersion, sheer size and replayability. I normally get bored after playing a few hours of any game but with the mods, building mods etc I've logged over 400 hours whereas in guild wars 2 I've spent 15 hours at the most?

How do you stand that godawful UI!!? Although, perhaps you will be in time to try the next version which is reportedly brilliant. Vanilla probably doesn't seem so bad if you haven't seen SkyUI.

 

I played the game first time on the PS3, I suppose that terrible experience really enhanced my enjoyment of modding it on the PC.
