Good mods to install

So I'm thinking of buying Skyrim and the 2 DLC's one of these days, and I was wondering if there are any mod I HAVE to install!! Already decided I go for SkyUI, but I'm not sure about other mods.. Like, should I install a mod that improves (or changes) the way skills are behaving and such? I really want to make SKyrim a lot more realistic, as I'm intending not to use fast-travel

I don't need armor or weapon mods since I already have an outfit and weapon that I'm gonna use, though I still need a wooden bow that matches the Berserk armor, the Knight's greatsword and the quiver of the iron arrows.

So, I hope you guys and girls can give me some good advice on wich mods to install :)

Skyrim Redone and Deadly Dragons are two of the biggest mods on the nexus right now. Skyrim Redone is basically a major Skyrim overall that also includes changes to the skill system. (You will have to start a new game over.) Deadly Dragons includes dragon difficulty customization that allows you to make the dragons harder and realistic.

If you want to get hardcore with realism then get Imp's more complex needs and Frostfall - Hypothermia Camping Survival.

I also recommend getting DYNAVISION - Dynamic Depth of Field, IMAGINATOR - Visual Control Device for Skyrim, Project Reality - Climates Of Tamriel - Weather - Lighting, RCRN v35 HDR - Your AllinOne Lighting and Immersion, Texture Pack Combiner if you want a more immersive and better graphical experience, if your computer can take it. Go sign up at http://www.razerzone.com/gamebooster/signup so you can get an invite to the Razer game booster beta so you can increase your game FPS.

If you haven't already done so go browse the Skyrim Nexus for mods. Currently of as this post there are 23,120 different mods available.

I looked through all the mods and I think I'm only going with Skyrim Redone, Deadly Dragons and the Texture Pack Combiner mod.

Imp complex Needs mod is great, but I don't want that much realism into it.. Only need a mod that disables only fast travel!

Speaking of wich, are there any patches that I need to install, like Skyrim Unofficial Patch?

I reccomend the Cerwiden companion, shes great. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20787 She sounds like she would be overpowered, but shes really not, she also has a quest line that has 2 parts so far that you'll eventually get by talking to her about things. She is also extremly configurable, shes a healer/mage hybrid. Try her out, shes much MUCH better than any of the vanallia companions thats for sure. I use her myself. To lower how op she seems, go into combat tactics and disable allowing her to paralyze enemies, she has a ranged spell that does it (but as I said you can disable that function). Also for Skyrim Redone, note that the mod is balanced for Adept, Adept in skyrim redone is harder than master in vanallia skyrim. Just be warned you might die a lot when you first start using Skyrim redone(aka Skyre) due to how combat has been made totally diffrent. Be sure to read the description it tells you most of the changes and such. I also use deadly dragons it works great with Skyre since Skyre doesn't modify dragons in anyway at all. Only problem with Skyre is it doesn't play nice with other mods that add items due to how the armor/weapon gear has been change, The items especally armor will probally be underpowered in skyre, unless it has a compatability patch.

Have fun in Skyrim, its a great game once you mod the hell out of it.

Well, I don't think I'm going to use Cerwiden, because I don't need companions. I always go solo!

Anyway, you say that Skyre changes armor/weapon gear. I assume it changes the weapon damage and armor rating? Because I can change that on my own mod! I don't add any more weapons/armor in the game then my own mod, so that won't be a problem
