redawg136
When i went to shivering isles for the first time, every single dark seducer and golden saint guard I try and talk to says "I have no greeting". I researched a little bit and found that this bug can happen in specific instances but nowhere does it mention every guard having this issue. Any idea? myrmaad
When i went to shivering isles for the first time, every single dark seducer and golden saint guard I try and talk to says "I have no greeting". I researched a little bit and found that this bug can happen in specific instances but nowhere does it mention every guard having this issue. Any idea? http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Shivering:Glitches I HAVE NO GREETING! This bug appears when the NPC has no Shivering Isles-specific dialog, or if a Shivering Isles NPC is brought to Cyrodiil. All dialog in the game is tied to quests, even generic dialog shared by many NPC's; this allows the dialog to be switched on and off or given priority over or under other dialog. When a new NPC is created, they will have only access to generic quest-based dialog based on their race and class (they get Shivering Isles dialog by being placed into Shivering Isles factions or by the individual lines of dialog's conditions including them.) All of the generic dialog is specific to Cyrodiil, and is turned off when the player enters the Shivering Isles by the flag on the generic dialog quests that disables them when the player is in the Shivering Isles so that Cyrodiil rumors and other inappropriate dialog doesn't appear, so the new NPC ends up with no dialog at all, including greetings. If the NPC is talked to, the game inserts the "I HAVE NO GREETING!" response to prevent it crashing. Some examples of this are: * One test subject in Xeddefen can be spoken to, as above there will be no voice dialog with the text "I HAVE NO GREETING!" * The "NO GREETING" dialogue bug also appears when attempting to speak with Traelius in Dire Warren. * In the Howling Halls, sneak up to the first person in the dungeon and speak to him. Text will say "I HAVE NO GREETING!" * The Heretics and Zealots that can be found at camps also have no dialog and display "I HAVE NO GREETING!", this is very likely to happen if the player's personality is too high (for example 255) and therefore regularly hostile NPC won't attack as they should. * Any time a script (or console commands) moves a non-SI character into the Isles (or moves the player from SI to Tamriel), the bug will occur. Examples: * If you commit murder and Lucien Lachance comes to visit you in the Isles, he will be bugged. See solution below. * If the Adoring Fan is killed, and he respawns while you are in the Isles, he will be bugged. To solve this problem, simply kill him again and make sure you are in Tamriel when he respawns the next time. * Similiarly, bringing NPCs from the Isles to Tamriel, such as guard escorts, will cause them to display the glitch. * This has also been known to happen with Dark Seducers or Golden Saints appearing at the entrance to the jail if you go to jail in Cyrodiil. PC Note Any player-made mod (or console use) using "player.placeatme <x>", "<y>.moveto player", or moving the player between Tamriel and SI (coc, cow, player.moveto, etc.) can cause the bug. In this case, it can be fixed by invoking "setPlayerInSEWorld 0" (or 1, depending on the situation) on the console. * The "I HAVE NO GREETING!" glitch may appear when attempting to talk to J'skar after the attack on the Bruma Mages Guild. If this still occurs after he appears at the Arcane University, try again later and it should fix itself.
redawg136
Yea I figured it out, I read that faq actually but since I didnt do any of the things I thought could trigger the bug I didnt think it applied. What I did actually was transfer a save file so I could use a more powerful character to play in SE which caused the bug. Anyway sorry for wasting a post
