I am not a modder, so consider this one rabid fan's pipe-dream of a request.

I love New Vegas and the modding scene and it always bugged me how Ulysses goes on and on about how awesome Hopeville was and how it was a sign of a better future and yadda yadda but even if you get the best/most good karma ending of disabling the nukes and not killing him nothing really happens to it? No one comes to try and settle, not even ghouls, and your fellow courier just sits there...forever...doing nothing?

The mod I want would require you to have spared Ulysses and disable the nukes. Sometime after beating the DLC (maybe a day or two) He'd contact you about rebuilding Hopeville via a message, probably with something poetic about 'restoring hope'

Considering the DLC's big focus on being your final stop before the battle of Hoover Dam, I could see you maybe siding with the different groups to help rebuild it.

  • NCR wanting to rebuild it to restore the trade route.
  • Legion wanting to rebuild it to mess with the NCR even more/extend their reach.
  • House wanting to rebuild it to improve trade and bring in more caps, and to have more to bargain with the NCR with.
  • And Yes Man just does whatever you want so he's a given really.

I know it's not much, figured we could get a discussion going.

Hello,
I’m just reaching out to see if anyone else had the same idea as me, and it turns out yes! Your description perfectly matches the mod I’m working on—except for one detail... I’m a pro-NCR player in Fallout: New Vegas, so my mod will feature only the New California Republic. 😀

I'm working on a mod that rebuilds Hopeville and, eventually, the Divide. I’ve even redesigned the interiors of Hopeville’s buildings, though I didn’t want to completely restore it. After all, it’s nearly impossible to make a city look “like new” after an explosion, so I aimed to keep it somewhat realistic.

The mod should be ready for release in a few weeks, with quests and characters coming later. For now, the interiors of buildings and the exterior of Hopeville will be rebuilt with all NCR equipment.
