dmmobius
So, I've been planning to completely redo the the enchantment tree here for awhile and I'm finally starting on it. I've managed to gut it of everything except extra effect, and here's the problem: I cannot figure out how to make extra effect have different values for each of the enchantments. Here is what I want to do: First, have multiple ranks of extra effect (check) Second, have extra effect at the bottom of the tree (check) Third, make extra effect have a 60%/40% ratio for the first rank . . . Uhhhh . . . Google? . . . Youtube?. . .Steam community and Skyrim Nexus? Nope, nothin'. Has anyone tried playing with this? If so, is there something I am missing, or can this not be done at all? I thought I remembered Syynx's perky mod having done this before, but his vision and mine completely differ as far as the enchantment tree goes. dmmobius
I think I may have answered my own question. In the enchanter line all of the perk entries set their values to == 0 for the next rank of enchanter, however what we'll (well, what I'll do, anywho), is not have the last version 0.00-ed out. So, when we go into the value instead of having it set it to 3 we'll have it add to the original value. I have no clue if this will work right or not or if I'll create whole new messes that will allow players to do multiples of the same enchantment (which I actually don't want to allow), however, it should allow for variance in the different values. What I am afraid will happen, is that I will create diminishing returns. I don't want to zero out the old value for the percentage, which, hypothetically should only apply to the original values, but at the same time I might have to do some fancy footwork to get the added effects (with their new values) to work right. I'll continue working with it and I might beta my version of extra effect here very, very soon . . . no point in working with anything else until I can make certain the start of the tree works right. This is probably going to blow up in my face. There's some stretching to my logic here that I don't think would work in any system.
