I'm playing a sword and board guy right now, and I just find the enchantments ....lacking. So I thought I'd do some more interesting enchantments. I already have a few of them going, but they're somewhat typical. Here are the enchantments I have active, or planned so far. FlameCloak on shield raiseFrostCloak on shield raiseLightningCloak on shield raiseIlluminate shield(essentially making it act as a torch replacer or possibly flashlight)More Bash DamagePeryite WardElemental Bash DamageBurn Undead WardThorns Damage But these are all somewhat underwhelming to me, so I was wondering.... Someone was asking about light-up weapons just recently. How about a 5 second frenzy cast on anyone who hits it? A Fus Roh Da power bash? A small chance of randomly disarming an attacker? Right now, the "functional version" just adds a light effect to the character. It's currently omni directional, but I would like to make it more like a spot light that goes up when you raise the shield. I'll try to get that to work next and share what I did. I'll probably have to create 2 magic effects. One to launch the effect, and one that acts as the light. I like the frenzy idea, the stealth shield, the disarm, and maybe on the fus roh da. I don't want these to be OP, and launching enemies so far away with a simple power bash might be a little much......maybe, I'll have to try it out. Also, what would disabling ragdoll do exactly? KingsGambit Posted November 18, 2012 Share Posted November 18, 2012 By disabling ragdoll, I was thinking of the Draugr unrelenting force, along the lines of the perk the player receives by meditating on "Fus" from Parthurnaax. Less likely/impossible to stagger, or get sent flying by draugr. It could be called "The Immoveable Object" :-) How about a shield that in "lore" terms, puts out a great head-wind, slowing attackers from approaching the player. In scripting terms, it progressively slows melee attackers who approach the closer they get, making it harder to get close to the player, maybe even repelling them slowly.A "charge-up" shield that must be raised for like 5-10 seconds maybe, before turning the player ethereal, until it's lowered again.Another "charge-up" type, inspired by the Dawnguard Runehammer. It "stores" incoming elemental magic attacks and power-bashing releases it as a ranged fireball/ice spear/thunderbolt in front.Dragonborn related shield. Similar properties to the potion/blessing Esbern gives the player.Every time the shield absorbs 1000/xyz damage, it lets out a huge explosion. It should be high enough that it happens seldom, but powerful and visually impressive enough to make the player smile when it triggers :-)The blessed "Undead Bane" shield. Any undead in front of the raised shield take a constant, small amount of damage.The animal bane, that lets out a blood curdling roar to scare off attacking bears/wolves/sabercats. Or makes them regard the player as a friend?As a theme, maybe a series relating to the 9 divines. A Shield of Julianos/Zenithar/Mara, etc that have bonuses in keeping with their dominions. Maybe same for the Daedric Princes.The health-regenning shield. It drains stamina at a high rate to replenish lost health at a low rate, while raised.The "speed shield" that greatly increases the players movement speed while raised, instead of lowering it.The "beam shield" that, if raised for 5/10 seconds without being hit, lets out a harmful beam of sunlight/energy.
