wcho035
Hi, I am not sure if this was discussed before since I am new on this forum, and this keep creeping up my head when I play fallout 3 About having more than 1 companion NPC beside Dogmeat, although there were tricks to get around the system at getting more than 1 NPC companion. E.g The Bigtown Quest where you don't return with the NPCs you had rescued. Or you nailed Dogmeat and hire a new NPC straight away.. and etc. That "getting around the system" is messy and it often it is more of chance that it may work. I was wondering if there a way that a NPC compantion can be modded so that their counter or flag is same as Dogmeat? E.g That is the flag is equal to something and it is not counted toward the Companion pool? If you have say Dogmeat's flag = 0, Charon =0 and etc.. then you can have all8 of them! If 8 is a little too many, maybe the flag can be change to 0.5 for each companion NPC so that when it is added up nicely to 1 you get two NPC companion. OR Is there a way to change the 1 companion NPC limit via modding? While I am at it, is it possible one can eliminate that Karma allignment for Companion NPC e.g set it the same as Charon or Dogmeat, so that they can join you? wcho035
True I saw that post, but it does not answer the point of my topic which the question was can a mod be made with the parameters I had proposed? Thanks.
ComicKaze
Not without a CS, no we can't direct affect the scripts. And you could have kept this in the more than 2 buddies thread as it was already being discussed and even the script commands you ask for are in there. There's no way to execute them right now however. If you have future requests, there is a forum specifically for requests. If you really want all the companions, you can just kill and resurrect dogmeat until you have all 8 NPCs following you. I have all of them in my game...and fully interactive as well. Along with 50 fully interactive Dogmeats but that brings my game down to 1 frame per second! It's not messy and it's not "a chance that it will work". It's a program and it will always work if you do it properly. Have 1 companion and dogmeat. Kill dogmeat. Hire a new companion. Resurrect dogmeat and restart his quest. Kill him again. Hire another companion, etc.
