slainia
heya... I updated my drivers et al the other day - or rather my computer did - and noticed today that the amd program suite is...vastly different than it was. Before, all my options for configuring visual settings were there if i simply opened it from the taskbar & went to the appropriate section. Now, when i do the same thing, all i have available are power and performance options. Of course, when I click on either of them l can't actually change anything. thing is, l don't want to change anything with that - l wanted to change the brightness of my display again, and can't figure out how.. Anyway, l'm not sure what info you'd need, but ask and l'll get it. thanks for reading. :( Forgot to add - windows 7 64 bit, ati radeon 4650l went to amd and did the auto detect download thing.. going to see if it works. l am so confused right now. edit - found settings, it's somewhat helpful in changing view types etc. can go between standard and advanced views, but there isn't much more to chose from in advanced. still limited to power options, cpu speeds, wifi radio and presets. if i select the ? button with one of the above highlighted, it'll give me more information on those options - that's great, but not what l need. l decided to assume it was a blond moment thing and searched for brightness etc in the search bar, but nothing comes up. slainia
think l answered your question in my edit. forgot to add them. hope it helps. it's downloading 12.6 now, which is what it downloaded before i'm pretty sure... :wallbash:
kalikka
12.6 is the latest 4650 driver. They dropped 4000 series from the main driver-updates completely. iirc, the old drivers had a "UI for idiots" and "UI for pros" kind of settings. Enable the advanced settings/etc. to get the settings panels to show up.
slainia
l looked for options like that, figured that was what they'd done...didn't find it, but i'll look again. Thanks, least l know it's not a full out glitch. Lol.

slainia
Yep manually uninstalling and reinstalling + reboot fixed it. Was definitely a bad install the options are all there now even though the interface has changed. Thanks for the help, l really do appreciate it. :)
