ov3rwhelming Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I have never done any modding before. I wanted to know what programs you guys recommend to use for modding, and some links to tutorials for beginner modders. Any help would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
bben46 Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Start here: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Main_Page You will need the construction set to start with. It's located here: http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_utilities.htm As you progress you will find the need for other programs, but you will need to know how to use the CS to do anything.
armageddon818 Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 If you are going to do any modeling, you are probably going to use either blender (free @ blender.org) or 3dsmax (not free...) Then in order to view the .nif files associated with the meshes created and used in Oblivion... you will need nifskope. Gimp or photoshop are excellent graphic editors (the first of which is free) Do you have any ideas as to what you might want to do? Ask a lot of questions here, these forums are a great place to grow. Good Luck,David

And as for my ideas, don't really have one right now but i have some staffs that i was thinking of trying to make. Wish me luck. :thanks:
Natsu666 Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Its always good to use the CS to just edit a staff that already exists so that the staff will fit in the characters hands perfectly and you won't have to fiddle with it
