Maria (9 mm) reskin

I have no experience modding FNV, or anything at all. Would you give me help how to do the simplest mod to get rid of the shiny from Maria, the unique 9 mm gun? If it's more than slightly simpler to replace its visual by a 9 mm (it have to retain the normal Maria properties), I'm fine with that; please disregard image editing for the simplicity, I don't mind spending time doing that in an image editor. I had 2 PCs (playable character) up to now and for both I thought they would consider the reflectivity a detriment to sneaking (even though it doesn't affect the mechanic, if the PCs would be real I'm sure they would share my thought on that).

If someone doesn't mind creating the mod for me, there's 2 ways I'm thinking the PCs would proceed, either

  1. have some kind of removable matte cover (ie: rubber), and as a GRA quest mention religion that affect Maria, either
    1. the religious icon somewhat visible (ie: a translucent slightly dark cover), or
    2. a simple religious symbol on the cover (ie: a black cross painting over the dark cover) over the icon location and of a similar size
  2. have the shiny parts sanded and painted over (to prevent rust), including the ivory except for the religious icon.

As I mentioned earlier, the previous paragraph only applies if it's slightly more complicated than replacing the visual by a 9 mm, or if a modder want to spend the extra effort on it.

Thank you kindly

That seem considerably better than the original. Some parts look a bit glossy, especially the top. Perhaps it could look more sanded, or perhaps even stained.

Update 1: The modifications I'm referring to is only about the non-very-dark / non-black areas.

Update 2: The top of the hand seem brighter so I'm assuming the top of the gun is only shinier because of the lighting and the whole gun could benefit from a modification, should one be done.
