Hand-held Navigation Telescope

There have been so many cases where I was up on a hill side or mountain top looking out towards my direction of travel or at ruins on in the distance. Lately, every time I do this I can't help but think that having a pair of binoculars or a hand-held telescope would do so much for the immersion. I try to resist using fast travel and I've been using the iHUD mod by Gopher to eliminate the radar, so realism is very important to me during gameplay.

What this mod concept would do is simply allow you to witness more of the Skyrim land without interfering so you can make decisions on how you'd like to plan your trips or if a barrow looks worth your time looting. It's main function would really be for immersive gameplay. I suppose it would have to work by loading a the cell that you zoom into so loading screens may come up if it were possible, but I don't know much at all about modding.

If this seems too boring to construct any thoughts on how I could make this work would be appreciated.

I like this idea and it inspired me to do some fiddling around with creation kit but my idea failed.... all i ended up doing was making it possible to zoom in really far with a certain bow... the zoom in function for bows is locked to bows so you'd have to get someone that could write some script or something (basically not a NOOB modder like me :/). But i like the concept and MANY others have posted this on numerous forums but no one seems to make it :/

This Hand-held Telescope would be good if using Warzones - Civil Unrest Watching the Battles from a far or making a Decision on how your Army attacks a Stronghold or finding a Different Route past the Battles so that you don't get Killed. I love the Idea of a Hand-held Scope or Telescope. Or if you are using a Monster Mod that adds More Monsters or a mod that makes the Game More Difficult this would also be good to have.

I can only hope someone figures out a way. The navigation scope could be useful in so many ways. You could scan mountain sides for ore deposits, or identify creatures and find ways around things as Jitansgate mentioned. It would be excellent for a stealth character. It would even be lore friendly. There could be a simple wood version with a short, fixed focal length and a Dwemer version that allows you to zoom.

Maybe I should just do my homework and see what I can get away with in a mod of my own.

Thanks for the responses.
