Racemenu exported NIF files freezing game when placed on custom npc/followers. Please help! :(

Hello, let me start by saying that I don't know if this is a Racemenu thing or a Nifscope thing (or something else entirely), but I'm hoping someone might have insight.


Whenever I export a racemenu head mesh/texture and place it on a customized NPC or follower as a replacer - the game freezes when I get close enough to the NPC to talk.


I have created multiple replacers successfully before using the same methodology (export from RM, create esp in the CK, export facegen, edit RM generated nif in Nifskope to match exported facegen names and correct texture paths). I have been troubleshooting this issue for 2 months now. Everything is updated, and Racemenu seems to work - The face mesh loads as a player character just fine.


I have triple checked all my file paths and meshes/textures and everything is as it should be. I have created several replacers successfully with a mod published, and didn't change anything in my workflow. I have disabled all other mods, including rolling back skse and reinstalling CK, ck fixes, and SSE engine fixes. I have optimized the meshes with nif optimizer and CAO, and re-exported the facegen files from racemenu. I have rebuilt them on the previous and current ck, on two different computers and I have run out of things to try. Does this issue ring a bell with anyone? Literally any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.


I am desperate.
