Xegethra
*EDIT 6* IGNORE EVERYTHING! I managed it....it was the simple option in the nif export from Blender that was the problem. Shadow Map was unchecked. Someone here on the Steam forums had mentioned that. Now my changes show up! https://i.imgur.com/5GdBYhD.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/KdYouSg.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/f888Txz.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/4YvsPYL.pngHello I was trying alter the Tunnel Snake outfit by adding spikes to it, intended for both genders. Like a punk meets greaser outfit. However I cannot figure out nifs and when I actually did make up the outfit in Blender, exporting it didn't work. I've been trying for the past few days but I can't get my head around nifs and the whole pyffi thing either. But I do have a model has the spikes on it all the same. I installed an old Blender version, 2.49 after all. I can export stuff now so that is a step forward. So I was wondering, if anybody is willing to help, to take a look and see what I am doing wrong?https://www.dropbox.com/s/gukxldsbv7vvse5/tunnelsnakenif.rar?dl=0Here's the general idea of ithttps://imgur.com/a/o84ouYN Thanks if anyone can help! *Edit* Well, I've been getting on with it and ended up using the old version of blender, 2.49. However exporting nifs is still a problem, I'm not entirely sure what to actually do. If I import and export and make no changes everything is fine...it's just attaching my spike models onto the clothing that seems to trip the whole thing up. I have tried making groups of spikes for each body part and using ctrl + j but then the spikes don't get attached to a body even if I put the armature down like in the imported nif? I have also not used ctrl + j but still told what armature to use, same result.Yeah I have quite a lack of understanding with this whole thing. I don't know how well it will serve me but I am following this guide now, I have only gotten to the weighting part so hopefully maybe it can help.https://wiki.nexusmo...Fallout._Part_1 *EDIT 2* So using that guide I got somewhere.....sort of. My studs load up in nif skope but in the geck they are not to be seen. I'm messing it up somewhere along the lines.https://i.imgur.com/3F7Pmm9.png - In nifskopehttps://i.imgur.com/DYgbWgh.png - In geck In game it just looks default despite in nifskope, having them. *EDIT 3* O.K. Now they show up in geck but not in game. Perhaps the wrong skeleton is being used. The guide would have me use the human one as it assumes a new outfit entirely. I'm just trying to edit an existing one. I'll try using it's skeleton insteadhttps://i.imgur.com/Q4uk7xS.png - In geck, I don't know if you can see the studs but they are barely visible in such a small image. Zooming in zooms past the model so I can't get a closer look! *EDIT 4* It seems whatever variation I do the spikes are invisible, and yes I make sure the mod is activated. Somewhere the nif is getting messed up. I don't know how, but instead of NiNode with the scene root in it, I get BSFadeNode with the scene root, and embedded in it is the NiNode. I try renaming the BSFadeNode and get no results. Or I try to move the components into a copy of the default outfit I keep as a back up and place the parts in there so they are under NiNode and then save that as a further copy. In the geck it seems to work, I see the outfit, I see the spikes...but in game, nothing....it is just the default outfit.I am so confused, nifs are too complicated for me. I just find it odd that no matter what I do I always get the same two results, an invisible outfit or the default one. *Edit 5* I've hit a brick wall here, no matter what I do, my edits or parts of the outfit are invisible, or all of it is.I can upload the nif I have made and someone maybe could tell me what I have done wrong? You can have the blend file too. Edited February 7, 2020 by Xegethra
