Dwight7
Hey, I've been playing Oblivion on my computer lately and there is a pretty evident lag most of the time. I've already turned down the graphics settings to low and it runs much better but its still pretty laggey in places and I was just wondering if anyone knows of any good mods that can help reduce lag. I've heard that the polymer count can be reduced which can really make a difference in game performance but I don't know of any of any in particularly. Lag= :wallbash:
octavius243
PyFFI. You can use this program to optimize the meshes Oblivion and mods use.Unoffical Patch. Already optimizes many vanilla meshes and textures. And check out this page.
SickleYield
You mean the polygon count? :D You do that by installing low-poly meshes. I don't know of any mods for that off the top of my head, but you could search here or google. It will make things look pretty lousy, though. I personally use Streamline. dlcooper
Hi, Check out the Oblivion Texture Overhaul site. ( http://devnull.devakm.googlepages.com/obli...textureoverhaul ). Try the link for 128Mb video cards. It's got links for texture packages geared to lower end machines. I have the 3 landscape textures installed as well as the wiseman packages listed and it helps quite a bit without losing video quality. Hope this helps. tecses1
Lol you guys are bonging you heads against walls (XD So true lolz) o_O If you can use the console, set your tree's to lowest resolution, turn off grass... (There turned of in the video settings,Or just type tg and tt in the console :P) and type 'tlb'. Tlb stands for Toggle Light Brite. It'll make everything bright, even at night, and may get a little annoying sometimes, but it reduces lag like 75%. Very useful I'd say. ;)
