Jetrel Posted November 22, 2008 Share Posted November 22, 2008 think it would be cool to create a system to make karma matter?good/evil poo you do adds points to your good/bad karma, so if say at a certain point in the good/bad karma 2500 pts, 5000 pts, 10000 pts you unlock different perks or something. or even instead of creating new perks just put in old ones, like night person, or other perks no one picks because they just suck or dont effect much.or even just one perk that gets better the more evil/good you are. this mod would also be good if say it gave you a choice of perks at a certain point as stated above, but also increase the xp required to level to balance it out. one extra idea. the percentage chance in the speech choices pisses me off, anyone ever think of fallout 2 styling it?just need your speech high enough to unlock different choices instead of quick saving/loading till you get it. would make speech more important to sink points into as well, thus making the pacifist run through more viable. hehehe 2 cha per companion would be slick. also on a side note, who misses Goris? i might start work on an actual deathclaw companion mod. cant exactly create new models untill a cs comes out so it will probably be a retextured deathclaw.. >_> hope this gets you guys' creative juices flowing, please post your ideas aswell. lets brainstorm :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I put up my idea for a mod and it's gotten no responses at all (not even a "you suck noob"). From an rp standpoint I'd argue against night-vision. I feel like that would be out of reach technologically (at least until you were fighting Enclave - maybe have it be something you could find at one of their little Wasteland bases). My personal FO3 dream is running my own town. Depending on how bored I am (and assuming the damn editor ever gets released) I'm going to start work on that. We can retexture guns, but scripting a new companion and new conversations is just not as easy. Editing terrain (e.g., for a town) is completely out of the question with the tools we have. You have to understand that in Morrowind or Oblivion it was easy, but here modding still involves a good deal of hex-editing binary files and cussing ;) We're in the stone age of modding. Or if they will at all. We also don't know what it can do and how, what are the system's limitations, or what scripts already exist and are easy to change to fit our ends. There are some things though that I would change like a more unique nucka cola factory. I would (and will) add many more guns and craftable weapons like the handheld flamer made out of a paint gun and pilot light. I am almost done the L.A.R.G. (Linear accelerated rail gun) check the nexus in the next couple weeks. i would like to see more towns (one ma out of trucks, busses and train cars). Lets just cross our fingers and hope for a cs. Will be slow to reload and rare but will devastate an enemy at close range (BTW the whole top section of the gun will recoil on springs when fired) Should look like a large handgun with 2 springs attached to the sides and a large slot in the top where the bullet goes in. ;) Mini Nuke mine should be fairly simple. How about a missile launcher that fires rockets made out of nucka cola bottles, landmine, abraxo and turpentine! Holding a big tube minigun style with a backpack full of nucarockets! (semiautomatic) BTW the L.A.R.G. looks sort of like a negative of a V8 engine (big center part with 8 large coils in a V shape 4 on each side. Its BIG! and very fallouty! Jetrel Posted November 27, 2008 Author Share Posted November 27, 2008 downloaded the larg, using it now. awesome gun man. and your new idea for the 50cal handgun! genius though i would love to push you in the way of the old fallout 2 weapons. i remember there being a bigass black handgun, cant remember what it fired but i think it may have been 50cal? check it out. now that the cs is coming out there are infinite possibilities. new brotherhood bases? private fort? joining brotherhood/enclave?being an overseer and using your vault inhabitants for different things(army?,labrats?). or even a complete overhaul of the fallout 3 special system, more inline with fallout 2>_>and for the love of god, no more chance based speech dialogues!!! im so excited about the new possibilities!
