Murich
I like this game, but I get lost quite alot so I have to open up my pipboy and play around with the map really, really often. So this post is to hear what all you others think about a minimap (maybe a mod)? If you want realism, then you could show the arm with the pipboy and map in realtime, just like the ingame character would see it.For me though, it would be even better with just an ordinary minimap for the convenience and (hopefully) easy implementation of it. This was never really that much a problem in the older games because they were 2D, viewed from high above and didn't need a minimap the same way as Fallout 3 does.Regrettably, right now I spend more time searching the net for solutions to this "problem" than actually playing the game, but so far I haven't found one. It's not a bad idea as we do have to pull up the map a lot (those underground tunnels can be a maze!) but I think Bethesda was going for the clean UI for immersion factor, much as they did with Oblivion. We do have some very talented modders out there, though so who knows, especially once Bethesda get's their finger out (as we Brits say) and releases the construction kit. :) Oh and btw, I only last night discovered you can zoom that map! hehe. I've been scrolling all over in it too, very frustrating. Just use your mouse wheel. Cheers.
fallout3enthusiast
Would a be a good idea, though the game guide which can be bought on amazon for a low price or acquired by other means includes a high quality map which shows you everything. Takes away some of the mystery of the world mind. This is a world map of course, not the loca one, which I find pretty confusing anyway.
ComicKaze
for fun, when your arm is in pip-boy mode, type FOV 90 or any bigger number in the console. I kind of like it better that way. Too bad it doesn't stick.
lukestonehm
Ya i think a minimap mod isn't too far out of reach, all we need the is the (damn) SDK nd we could get started...java script:add_smilie(":wallbash:","smid_67")
