Riprock
Maybe I've never noticed it; but today playing the game the fan (or fans) in my PC case went into overdrive. I don't usually play as a mage but I toggled God mode and fried the guards in town for a laugh. As I was burning them up, wow, did the fans go nuts. Had this PC for a couple years, and I don't recall ever hearing this. Fans were not making bad noises, just never heard them going this fast I want a PC temp monitor for GPU/CPU, just to see if anything is overheating. I used to use Speedfan, on my old PC. But Kaspersky is freaking out, telling me there's adware all over it now that I d/l'd it today Recommendations? stabbykitteh
Been using CPUID HW Monitor. Checks voltage, fans speed, CPU, GPU and drive temps. Seems to work well - others may have better suggestions.
Despach
Core Temp is also a good one.
Riprock
Coulda warned me about all the Conduit nonsense. Didn't even get the the HW monitor. Install a download manager? No need. I don't think you're trying to do anything bad, but it smells fishy I appreciate the help, but warn a fella
Elysarian
Core Temp is also a good one.Exactly what I was going to suggest :) It works flawlessly under Windows 8 if you (like me) are mad enough to enjoy Microsoft's (beta) software (you'd think I'd have remembered the rule about waiting for service packs by now... after being around windows since 3.1)
Riprock
Anybody used Core Temp with Win 7? Do I need the drivers, or is that a generic Win 7 drivers link they show?

Didn't when I just tried it either - but I run script blockers.... edit: it offers one - but you don't have to use it to get the software. Anyway hope you find something that works for you. bben46
I use Speedfan: http://www.majorgeeks.com/SpeedFan_d337.html (Does not have any hidden malware) Conduit likes to hide their download as well as the uninstall - then claims they are not malware because their trash is supposedly useful in some obscure way. :pinch: My own definition of malware includes drive by installs, hiding the program on your computer and not allowing a FULL and complete uninstall using the MS uninstall tool in windows - IMHO Conduit IS malware. And I avoid and encourage anyone else to avoid any software that installs it. There are several software packages that I would be willing to use IF they did not include Conduit's useless malware. With it they are aiding and abetting malware and I will not use them. To the makers of Conduit - if your stuff is not malware why do you feel the need to hide it and make it difficult to remove? If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and smells like a duck...
Elysarian
Anybody used Core Temp with Win 7? Do I need the drivers, or is that a generic Win 7 drivers link they show?A lot of download sites spam you with other downloads these days (sometimes hard to tell where your actual download is!)... I've been avoiding Cnet for a while now as they seem to insist on forcing a download manager on me. As for the Win 7 question, my brother runs Core Temp just fine on Win7 x64, I'm on Win8 Pro x64 and I've run it on my lappy which is on Win7 32-bit. That's all with sticking with the drivers I've chosen to install, not ones "offered" by the download sites - one point is to make sure your chipset drivers are up to date (go direct to your Mobo manufacturer for these, info for that can be found by running CPU-Z from www.cpuid.com and going to the Mainboard tab)
