SexySergio
So I'm basically finished with Fallout 3 (you know, before Beth puts out the patch to fix all the bugs). Anyway, this is kind of a take on the Morrowind "fortress" mechanic. Here's what I've been thinking: Not too long in the game, you reach the point where caps no longer mean a damn thing. Your repair is probably high enough to repair anything you need, and you probably have way more stimpaks than you need as well. Basically, halfway through the game I had run out of things that required money. I remember in Morrowind you had to work your way up in one of the houses in order to get a fortress/home built for you. It was partially a quest and took a bit of time before it was finished. Sadly, it didn't do much once construction ended, though. That's where my idea comes in: Personal Wasteland Settlement: You've got all these transients moving about the Wasteland with nowhere to go. You've got more than 10k caps that will never get spent. You have a desire to put in a little work and see something built with all that money and man-power that's going to waste. I won't get into too much detail yet, but I'd love to see/make a mod where you govern your own town: -You'd have people in charge of different parts of the settlement: construction, defense, merchants, etc. -You could use your money to build/upgrade new buildings. -You could set how many defenders to guard the town and send out people to patrol the roads/area around the town. -You could upgrade the training and equipment of your guards.-You could choose from 2-3 different areas to put your settlement.-You would have to make judgement calls (anything from inter-settlement disputes to how to handle a mutiny, etc)-You could have quests that involve finding merchants/skilled people to come to your town and set up shop. -Raiders/Super Mutants/Enclave could periodically attack the town (maybe triggered when your town reaches a certain size - mainly large enough to make it worth risking their lives to attack). -You could have quests to acquire rare upgrades for your town (one idea I have is to acquire a radio tower so you could get updates on your town even if you're not there).-There'd be a cap on your town's population based on how much room there was (what building levels have been reached). That's not everything I've thought of, but it's a good smattering of the different ideas running through my head. Here's what I'd need:People who are good with the editor (you know, when it finally comes out). I'm all for writing and can probably handle convo trees and such, but my experience with the Oblivion and Morrowind editors are sorely lacking. I just don't have the technical know-how to do it (nor the time). Think anyone would be interested?
SexySergio
Seriously? No one finds this even remotely interesting? Too ambitious, or just a boring idea?
