When I see measures like this being taken on the Nexus, ie. the masses (dumb or otherwise) being actually listened to, and rules being tailored to the best fit possible, I boggle at those who maintain that the Nexus has a bad reputation. Reputation comes first from word of mouth, then actions -- word of mouth spreads (for good or bad) like a virus. Sadly, actions in this sense (at the Nexus) don't seem to factor into the detractors' garbage spouting. This will go a long way towards squashing such unfounded and unfair shite-mongering.

Thanks for listening, Robin.

I have one question does every mod cont to the unique download number or does one it have to have a 1,000 Downloads for each mods?

Also I like your new system for handling trolls keep up the great work!

All mods for a single game count. If you have 600 for one mod and 600 for another in the same game - Yes.

But if you have 700 for mods in one game and 700 for mods in another - no.

Meh, I read the rules should be interpreted as... I am a human being living in the free world who understands our morals and expected behaviors and will act as such. So I think being too strict sometimes and pointing out to rules that nobody actually reads is just well childish. I guess it's an necessary evil though.

I was never able to understand why people think this strictly moderation policy on Nexus sites is "bad"?! I think this is what makes Nexus such a great place. People should understand that even if they are somehow anonymous on the internet they should learn how to behave themselves, be polite, do not do to others what you don't want to be done to yourself and so on.

It is very simple: read the rules, respect them, be polite, don't think you are the center of the universe and that everything and everybody is here to support your immaturity. Respect the mod authors that provide their work for free(!!!!!!!!), the stuff because they are here to maintain order and respect yourself by respecting others. Don't think your point of view is the last word in any matter. And remember why are you here. Define very well why are you here on the Nexus.

After a good dose of coffee and aspirin I crunched this and came up with the conclusion "don't be bad."

I've been enjoying the Nexus for about a year now, I find the community as a whole to be both friendly and helpful, 98% of us won't mind or even notice any of this, but we'll be happy to know it's present. Good luck with the remaining 2%!

Transparency definitely sounds good, enabling mods to see IP addresses should also make prevention of alts/troll accounts and such even more effective/easier.

I'll agree with CaesarLoneWolf though, this is a community - maybe more abstract but similar to a club - so people should behave accordingly.

But to be honest I haven't seen too much trolling/infantility/insulting and such in my time here so the vibe usually seems to be pretty chilled out.

Good to see that the resins for bans will now be public, as I never liked the idea that someone could be baned with no real explanation (it's just to easy for someone to abuse a system like that).
