imcrease adoptions

I love Heart Fire but I can't take it any more... all those wandering children... the crying, the 'I'm so hungry', the begging.... I have all those empty houses which I never use after I buy them. I only visit the one with the children in it.

 

Is there any way I can increase the number of adoptions? As it is I avoid the areas I know where the orphaned kids are... sigh... Help!

I don't know how the game's going to handle additional children, e.g. what happens when it's night time and there's not enough beds? Unless you could use the extra little blighters as coat racks or weapon stands or something.

 

"Hey kid! I need something to prop up my extra staves, but you'll do. You get a roof over your head and food to eat. Deal?"

(Sherrid awakens from a dead faint after reading the suggestion she kill the children. She gets her barings before reaching for her trusty bows. She decides not to use the soul capturing one as two people who would suggest such treatment obviously had no soul and opted for the one she calls the 'Castrator' and takes steady aim....) Just kidding.(please step a little to the left Jack... thats it) umm... I mean. I would like to be able to put two children in each of my empty houses or purhaps a mod where you can build a very large house with multiple bedrooms ...

 

I have the mod that I can have multiple companions so I was wondering if it is possible to change something in game to make it possible to allow multiple adoptions?

I suspect it's possible...at least in the long run. You would probably make the mod similar to a multiple follower mod... find the quest involved and create additional aliases for the children, then change the scripts and any dialogue conditions to allow for more children. The reason it may not be possible right now, is I'm not sure if you can read/edit Hearthfire scripts in the CK yet. As far as I know the CK hasn't been updated to make it possible to edit Dawnguard scripts, so I suspect Hearthfires is the same.

 

I'd like to see a mod that would allow Aventus to be adopted. That kid needs a good role-model. Then again, I'm not sure my character would be considered a "good" role-model.

What if you modded in the extra beds to a house? I am working on a player house mod that adds two beds, when I get the hearthfire version done the kids bed will be moved upstairs so the alchemy lab can also be used and there is another bed in the basement. I could change the basement bed to kids bed if I had to or even double bed for kids upstairs so two of them could sleep up there. But what is the kid limit per house in hearthfire?

Kryptopr I was hoping it would be something simple like go into the file and change a number... unfortunately I have no idea how to mod, but I can go into the file and change things if given simple instructions. I thank you for confirming that it is possible however. I think I might make a request for it on the request mod line.

 

Dragonslayer I like the idea of having all the children in one house so that they can play together. Thank you both for your assistance and ideas. Sherrid

 

Kryptopr From what is in the information about Heartfire Aventis will eventually return to the orphanage and can be adopted.... and as his goal is to become an assassin when he grows up he just might appreciate a 'non traditional' role model.

you can always decompile the scripts/extract the BSA.

I've extracted the files from the BSA, and I can open the psc files up and view them outside of the CK, but the CK still doesn't seem to recognize the scripts. Is there another step that I'm missing? It would be great to finally be able to edit the Dawnguard scripts.
