Skyrim crashes when I select a mod in data files

So skyrim runs fine when none of my esp files for certain mods are checked in the data files, but as soon as I check one to enable the mod it will crash after the bethesda logo. Some mods dont even have or require an esp file to be selected to run properly such as face and hair mods, but things like new mounts and such seem to requre the esp to be checked in the data files.

ive seen several people say "just uncheck the mod". But I actually want to be able to use these mods, and its happening with several.

My face and hair mods are running fine because like i said they dont seem to require anything to be selected in the data files.

Perhaps you need to update Skyrim. Click load/or save once in game. In the bottom left corner of the window there will be a number like 1.xxxx. If it's an old version, like 1.1 or something you need to get the latest patch. I think the latest is 1.7 or something.

Yes,update it.Also check if it crashes after installation of a particular mod or something.Might be compatibility issues. Also if the mod requires say Dawnguard or Hearthfire and you don't have it,it might cause it to crash so check all that.

Hope this helps :)
