GreenPowaRanga
Hello, my issue is with my 7970 (vanilla one), with FRAPS to monitor my FPS it looks like even without the HD DLC i am only getting 40-50 FPS in-game. Isn't that unusual? Oh yes, i am playing at 1920x1080 at ultra high quality auto configured by the game. Lately i have been going through so many mods (looking for what i want, can go without, etc), starting more new games than i can count, along with reinstalling (which i just now did). I never used FRAPS before until now so its bugging me, i can't even see how i was playing with mods beforehand lol. I have the latest drivers, 12.11 beta. I have an i5 2500k (4.5ghz) & 8 gigs of RAM 8-8-8-24/1600 Strange when i saw benchmark reviews they were like in 90s iirc. If anybody has any information as to thi, i would be thankful. Aryube
I have no idea I would love to help but I use a 7950 and even with all the ultra texture packs including 4096 textures i still max the game on ultra at 60fps. This is with 4x MSAA and FXAA. Your graphics card SHOULD be getting much higher. Definitely. edit: I could probably help you but i would need much more detail. I have a few tips... First don't use any ENB's, your graphics card is good enough to run the game on 4x SSAA and it looks much better. If you want ENB's for the colour there are a lot of great lighting mods that add saturation. My second tip would be to make sure you do all the maintenance checks such as; 1) Check for mod compatibility by A) Reading readme's or Mod page, B) Reading user comments and/or C) Asking by posting a comment2) Clean master files using Tes5edit tool3) Use BOSS tool and Wyre Bash to setup a stable load order and bashed patch.4) Use Tes5edit to create a merge patch5) Check the STEP guide for ini tweaks and fixes That's all I can think of at the top of my head for now. Check the date on mods and the last update some may not be compatible with the latest Skyrim too. Here are a few pics of my game, running at solid 60fpshttp://i.imgur.com/OGXVU.jpg?1&http://i.imgur.com/LaMPQ.jpg?
GreenPowaRanga
I don't bother with ENB, As for #1 i have done though maybe not thorough enough, although this is this even the case a clean game. #2 I have done and #3 #4 I have not though, i figured that only wyre bash was for such. I took a look at STEP, but not much helped. I have just notice that my memory clock is at 1375 at idle and my GPU temp is 59 C, i mean it is the winter months and i have the heat on every now and then, but i doubt that explains why the memory clock is high. Oh by the way is your GPU overclocked? mine is not if that says anything. EDIT. Lol now my memory clock just dropped down to 150mhz..i wonder if fluctuates every now and then, also my temperature has now dropped, so that is good. @Aryube, if you don't mind me asking what is your CCC settings, do you use that high surface optimization setting or? EDIT2, lol okay now something strange is going on, my memory clock was fluctuating when i was watching a youtube music video up to 1375 as soon as i stopped it, it went back down to 105. My Gpu clock also goes up a little bit from 300 to 500, i wonder if this is normal for youtube music or watching videos and what not? GreenPowaRanga
bump Well i have tried a clean skyrim instal with no mods and nothing. I went as far as to wiping my drives clean, updating my bios, restablize my cpu overclock, and reinstalling windows with latest drivers and still only get between 30s and 40s framerate at 1080 with 7970. Tried the lowest quality setting and at best in the 50s all this on clean install. I also tried 3dmark 11 and only scored a 6400. This probably sounds like a really, really, really stupid question, but you don't have an integrated chip as well, do you? Just covering all bases.
