Mod permanently manually installed; how to remove?

I installed Diverse Skyrim via Nexus Mod Manager which jacked up my facegendata on all npcs, especially bandits/forsworn. Somehow, the mod stayed manually installed after some weird stuff happened with NMM switching profiles and reinstalling all my mods while my memory was filled up on the hard drive. Long story short, the files are stuck in place and I don't know how to reset the facegendata back to default and successfully remove Diverse Skyrim entirely. Tried the whole export facegendata in CK but it no work so I need some advice. Haven't been able to figure this out and enjoy my game for a long time now. Thanks y'all.

rename the games main steam target folder and reinstate/refresh the games files.

this basically replaces the game files and ini files, when done, run it again to make sure there is nothing left "no errors" then run the launcher and reset the ini to the graphics card.

test the game raw directly from steam...you Can use an older saved game file but not a recent one.

the face gen remains Encoded withing the saved game files in this game structure so there is NO way to remove that particular code.

Or start a new game as is and test..."from steams launcher, NOT NMM or any other manager. verify the code is ripped out. then test the mods.

And even Fallrim won't help? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19631

It's just a question, I am not an expert in the matter.

So you know, I use saved game files to diagnose errors in load orders and compatibility between mods, all code is stored within a saved game file even if you uninstall a mod, the code is still there.

Some code"depends on the mods" can be purged from a bad mod install, but it's a lot of work to do things like that.

Most just start a new game and delete the old saved game files.

How ever, if your game uses a cloud storage system for your stored progress? then things are left up to purging the code from the files.

My first response gives you the user that ability to purge your old saved game files "if they will load at all"

Hope that helps you understand things better.

How do I "reinstate/refresh the games files?"

Isolate the game page in your steam profile for the game, right click the game name and select properties, select the tab appropriate to the action your need to take and select verify game files...and wait.

When it completes and states no errors found, your good to go, If how ever it states errors were found? repeat the process and make sure it does not repeat.

If it repeats? / errors found---you have issues other than game files taking place.
