Need help with Skyrim SE Mod Load Order Problems

Hello all,

 

I have been modding my skyrim for the last week or two and I have got quite a few mods. Yes I use MO2, LOOT, and xEdit to check for all bugs, etc. I have also read mod descriptions.

 

Before I post my mod order and ask for help here are my current problems:

 

Missing faces on certain NPC females like Carlotta and the lady who runs the Inn in whiterun. I cannot get them to work. I have installed Bjin All in One and Wives, NPCS, etc. I even turned off PANNPCS to see if it works and tried running Bjinn in xEdit but cannot find any fixes.

 

My game also crashes everytime I enter Dragonsreach and I have no idea what mod causes that.

Are you sure you sorted your mods with LOOT? The reason for which I ask is that Legacy is don't in the 80s in your load order and The Legacy of the dragon born patches official is #21 Now Legacy being should be much higher in the load order And it should be above the LOTDB Patches as well. Patches IIRC should always be below the main file. Also when sorting your mods you left pane should match the right pane as closely as possible which would mean going through the down the right pane and moving mods in the left pane to closely match. You may have to run loot and move the mods in the left pane several times to get them all set.

 

Once that is all said and done check the mods pages and see what they recommend where their mod should be loaded

I have fixed my problems with Bjin mods. My only problem now is there is a mod causing my game to crash upon entering Dragonsreach. Mod order ftom LOOT below

I thought it was Realistic Water 2 but that did not fix it

Troubleshooting such a monster of a loadorder is always extremely difficult. Basic Rule: Build up your load order step by step (only a few mods at a time) and test, test test... Otherwise you'll end up with something that's more or less impossible to sort out.

 

To get a strating point, I'd check your patches. You got an incredible number of patches. IMHO this is a clear sign of "too much, too complicated" in general. A good and "safe" loadorder shouldn't need a gazillion of patches. Maybe this is also the source of some of your problems. If I didn't overlook something, you got patches installed for mods you don't even have. Check e.g. "The Ordinary Women" and "Diversity". I couldn't find those two mods in your load order - but you have patches for them. Unneccessary patches can cause all sorts of oddities - including CTDs.

 

As I said: Troubleshooting is very hard here. But I'd start with that incredible amount of patches.

 

EDIT: IMHO, you also need a "bashed patch" (think of it as an automated coflict resolution patch) created with Wrye Bash. It's practically a must with large load orders.

I am new to modding too. My learning has spanned over the last few weeks though so maybe I can help some. First, I have to agree with Algabar on the patches. I have seen the Qw_ patches are usually from Quinn's patches and comes with a FOMOD for installation. Any time I have used it only detected mods allow the patches to be chosen, I thought. So I am not sure how you got so many without the mods being available.

 

Second, and according to Quinn which I am following, the placement of his patches are all wrong according to his tips tutorial. On the QUASIPC mod page Quinn has a link to his tips on mod and patch placement that outlines info for his patches in load order. I started my adventure using Vortex so this is much harder to accomplish, with patch placement. Either or, Quinn's tips helped me a lot with the LO. As I am still putting together my mods for a play I have only tested it, but everything is very stable for me and because of Vortex I can only get the patches placed "close" after the affecting mod and not right after as is suggested.

 

Third, I think you maybe choosing "all" the options when a FOMOD allows you too. As an example I too use the mod Rich Merchants. When the FOMOD runs you are to choose the option for the merchants to have x2, x5, or x10 gold available. My assumption was I was to only choose one or it would seem to me they would conflict as the choice governs it for every merchant. By the looks of your LO you have all three choices made. In my LO I only see the single choice I made but maybe I am not correct and one can select all three. Maybe someone more experienced will reply on this.

 

Really check out Quinn's tips on the QUASIPC mod page. He talks about what will cause the CTD's and black face bug too. My only disappointment with the write up was after he covers the tips he says to just follow one's favorite LO guide. I have yet to find one and wish he included his own.
