s3p3hr
nevermind,i managed to solve this.(i didn't think i could though.)here is how i did it,it may be some use to others.first i removed all codecs from my system with a tiny program called filmerit.then i downloaded k-lite mega codec pack 32 and 64 bit. (installed 32,then 64.)and bingo,my fallout nv worked!though some questions remain like how the hell fallout nv is related to codecs, and why codecs suddenly stopped working!i guess some things better left unanswered :D
devinpatterson
though some questions remain like how the hell fallout nv is related to codecs, and why codecs suddenly stopped working!i guess some things better left unanswered :D I think they're used in the initial loading screens (desert view with bethesda softworks, obsidian entertainment, the tv test screen etc), don't think of htem as video files, but they do trigger ffdshow request when I first installed my codecs and new(ish) NV install. Most definitely. ffdshow is one of those hidden problems that occasionally rears its ugly head when it's unhappy. It's such a relatively common problem (not just with Fallout) that a quick Google of it should pop up some interesting pages.
