Armor Replacer Help

I was wonder if it was possible to convert this armor set http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25265 into a replacer that would replace the steel armor set.

 

If anyone could could tell me if its at all possible that would be great, and if you could tell me how that would be even better.

The easiest way is to just rename the Doom Heavy files to cuirass_0.nif and cuirass_1.nif and drop them into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\Data\meshes\armor\steel\f, overwrite if necessary. The drawback to this method is that, as a replacer, it will take on the name and stats of the original steel armor.

 

There's also cuirasslight_0.nif and cuirasslight_1.nif, the only difference I can see is that these don't have pauldrons. So you can replace one or the other or both versions.

Hey Ragicka, thanks for the reply.

 

I did what you said and its kind of worked but the problem is I can only see the mesh and the textures come up as a texture-less purple things.

 

So do I just have to go in and replace the cuirass textures with the ones the mod provides or what?
