Brnjamin
First off hello Nexus Forums. You guys rule. So excited to play my fave game again with Iron Sights!! Then I looked into this whole modding biz som moe and wowwwww. (P.S. as reference before discovering FO3 and NV two years ago the last game I put real hours into was Baldur's Gate on PS2 so, yeah.)Ok so, I'm installing on my recently built workstation - safe to say it's a monster. GTX670 4GB VRAM, 32GB RAM, 3930k, SSD - playing through this game again on my Xbox would be stupid. So.Best high res mods, textures, RAM mod, concerns?Win 7 pro 64 bit, concerns?Downloading GOTY edition as we speak - got Nexus Mod Manager and FOSE obv - am I good to go after I get those all installed? Do I need FOMM or any other acronyms?Bear in mind my machine, let's try throwing everything at this thing. I mean what am I gonna do with it work? Pshaw. :)Using this video as a guide for now by GophersVids YT user - Happy to read a text guide if there're better out there. This video may be geared a lil more toward the timid. I tweak Windows quite a bit so, not skeeered.Again you guys rock, and thanks in advance.
dtrower
Hi there, i pretty much followed Gophers videos to mod fallout 3 and now have a heavily modded game that is pretty solid. Watch all the vids and read the readme's for each mod.Nice system, i just picked up a 670 4Gb, very pleased with it, good luck on building your modded Fallout. Brnjamin
Thanks for the reply and the compliment! So far so good. Great guides by Gopher. It's a whole new game I'm sooo hooked again. I'm inexperienced at PC gaming in general so forgive if this is a dumb question - I capped frames at 60 fps in the stutter remover ini as he suggested - How many frames are you pushing with the 670? Safe to try 100? What's considered a badass frame rate for FO3?I'm full res on a dell u2711 that's 2460 x 1440 FYI and no major issues so far. Couple crashes when a lot is going on, some odd quirks but honestly not much worse than glitches on Xbox. It's OK I save a lot. :) I'm running Gopher's basics plus RH iron sights and a couple others. mini hideout, DC interiors... Though I put off the new Project beauty and reanimated as I've been itching to build my new character.Feel free to mention any other must have mods in your opinion too. Thanks again! dtrower
Hey there, glad you have it all up and running, i always cap at sixty the same as the refresh rate of my monitor, i find this gives a nice smoothness to everything. Did you check out the newer series he made? it's just 3 vids but worth watching, the third covers installing RH ironsights. Your right about it being a whole new game, i can't put it down, just amazing. A couple of mods you might want to check out, A world of pain, and casm, which is an auto save mod, i find it very useful and haven't had any problems with it :)
