Melee Only Mod?

Does anyone know if a mod has been made which removes all guns from NPCs, and/or replaces them with melee weapons? I thought it would be fun to have a play using only my melee weapons but obviously this will spectacularly fail against a mutant with a minigun. I haven't found one on the nexus, and I'd be happy to have a go at making such a mod but don't want to re-invent the wheel if it's already been done before.
