sanverm39
I have been reading a lot on this, but perhaps I was looking in the wrong places, because I can not seem to find how to do this. I know that Skyrim works with a nif-format for characters. Currently, I have a 3d character in obj-format. Questions:1. How to convert this 3d model to nif?2. How to add this new character design to creation kit? Is this just the same as adding any other object? Also, I read something about the necessity of changing the weighting of the nif after conversion. No idea how to do that either. Any help, pointers or links to tutorials is much appreciated! jeharnes
Hey, I've been trying to do something similar these last days, this video really helped me out: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ap8kkb862lg2bv9/Porting_Sephiroth_as_a_playermodel_into_Skyrim.mp4/file As far as I understand it, you have to weight your model according to the weight of a vanilla skyrim body. So you need to extract the mesh from your 'Skyrim - Meshes0.bsa' file, and then copy it's skeleton unto your custom character mesh. It's all explained in the video. You can extract the skyrim - meshes file with Bethesda Archive Extractor:https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/974 I used 3ds Max to edit my character. It has a nif-plugin, which let's you export and import nif-files. I'm sure there's something similar for Blender or whatever you are using somewhere on the internet. 3ds is what is used in the video example. As far as making the mesh your playermodel, I can't help you. You might find a solution by searching around in the forums though. Good luck!
