Max Level problem

I seem to be having a slight problem with the mods out there that allow you to have a max level past 20. I am currently using "Max Level 30 (or 40)" (though I chose the 40) and the "Level Up Workaround". Whenever I level my character up past level 20, the game crashes after I choose my perk and press Continue. Understand I have tried both mods together, each one seperately, and no mods at all (just using advlevel). Still seems to crash. Any help on how I can get past this?

 

Also, I did change the bInvalidateOlderFiles to 1 like the workaround says.

That's a pretty well known issue already. Rising past Level 20 makes the game crash, if your karma is bad. If it's good, the game resets it to neutral (at least on the Pip-Boy) and also GNR goes into a state similar to the one it's been in when you had just left the Vault. No news about you anymore etc.

 

There are console commands that allow you to set your karma. You'd have to set it to some positive value just before passing Lvl. 20, then you can set it back to what it was before. Unfortunately I've forgotten what those commands were... I guess you'll have to look out for them. I'm sure they are to be found somewhere in the comment thread of the lvlcap mod.

 

The radio issue remains unresolved, however, which is why I don't use the mod anymore in my present game. I rather resort to one ofthose slow leveling mods (less xp for kills).
