New to KCD Modding - How to install mods after recent patch broke them?

Ok guys, pretty much what it says on the title. I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information floating around on the Nexus about where / how to install mods these after patch "whatever" broke the pathing. Has the install process changed? What is the appropriate location for install now, etc etc??

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

So I found this:

On Feb 3rd the following was posted on the Restore Halbreds mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/48?tab=posts&BH=0)

"The mod still works, it just needs to be installed different.

How to Install:

1. Create a folder called "Mods" inside of your main game folder.

2. Create a folder for your mod inside the of the "Mods" folder. Name doesn't matter, i named mine "Halberds".

3. Inside of the "Halberds" folde create a folder named "Data".

4. Place the .pak file inside of the "Data" folder.

Seems to work for a lot of old mods. "

While this looks all well and good, some of the forum postings are suggesting it didn't work for them. Can anyone confirm if this method is a valid install fix??

As far as i know:

That can work for mods that used to be placed inside KingdomComeDeliverance\Data.

Other problems with older mods can be:

- Not updated in their manifest (mod.manifest)

- One of the files used in the mods have been changed when game got updated, you can usually redeem this by finding the new updated version of the file and implementing the old changes into that new file. I use the modding tools to find the updated files, when you install the modding tools you get all the files needed.

A tip is to check the kcd.log in KingdomComeDeliverance folder, you can see potential problems with loading mods there.

Thats all i've managed to figure out, hope it helps : )
