Rise of the undead

ooc: exactly my intention Shadow ;) but, I did not intend for you to be a part of the Council of the Eldest, but I can see no harm in it now, but just to make it clear: there are more than seven elders left, those are just the Eldests council who serve as co leaders and advisors. In a way it is good that shadow placed himself there, It gives the party some direct control over the armies before certain events which I am not telling you about yet. Just so you know at the present, no pc has any control over the armies of theri race, just a hint that something is changing.

Mt. Tatu, Great Hall

The creature turned to face the speaker, his gaze seemed to pierce Kin' Sharion like the tip of an icy blade interupting his own speach which was preparing to spill out from behind his foul and yet unseen lips. Thoughts suddenly filled Kin' Sharion's mind, but they were not his own: I do not fear you Kin' Sharion, you are but an agent of false gods long dead. If you sence confidence in my posture then you would be most correct, for a find myself far superior to your kind... which I find much less honorable and magnificent then i imagined. The creature turned back to the Eldest, pausing for a moment as if listening to unheard words.

Nyte let out a slow sigh as he rose from his bed. The screams were slowly fading, and his kin were returning to their homes on a full stomach. He realized that new vampires were to be born soon and he realized that some may barge into his cave is they were not strapped down well enough. He didn't bother drawing his scimitars, knowing that his battle prowess was much more then any newly spawned leech.

Even though Nyte didn't remember his transformation from the sane, civil human that he once was into this beastialic parasite, he has seen it before. It is a horrid thing, witnessing a creature such as a human, who is so beautfiul, turn into a blood sucking leecher of life. It saddened him so much to know that he is part of this. Why don't I just take this blade and kill myself? He thought...

But that thought left his mind as quickly as it entered. Nyte had an obligation to his kin! They saved him from the meaningless world of the mortals! He is now immortal, and he owes it to this all powerful race that he now is to help them become victorious in battle, whatever the cause may be.

"This is my life now, and I can't change that. I should just enjoy the strength and indulge in the blood.....but I can't." Nyte whispers to himself, "Why does my human side ever haunt me with its sanity....?"

Again Evien strode into Mt. Tatu for his daily checkup. He arrived just as the figure did. He watched from the shadows. Just as the figure was about to speak, he interupted,"What might you be doing here stranger?". "Perhaps you wish to join us?" the sarcasm dripping in his voice. He knew he would get lectured for this but he had a fair status in the guardian legions so it wouldn't be too bad. The figure ignored him, much to his displeasure, and continued to speak.

Kin'sahrion held the being's gaze with a steel countenance, shooting back at the figure in his mind, Supiriority will only get you so far - you are one, we are many.. I don't care who or what you are, you are not making easy allies. He had no idea if the being would hear him in his mind. But it didn't matter. Whatever this creature was it was definitly holding something back. Hidden behind its arrogance was a reason, and Kin'sharion suspected that weather he wanted to or not, this being was about to let him know what it was.

He stepped forward, slightly infront of the elder, though not directly in his path. It was his job to protect his warriors, and this creature didn't seem all that friendly. If things got ugly, he would be the first line of defense between it and the eldest. Times were getting dark indeed..

OOC: Bah, too short.. Gimme more room!!

Elratha awoke just outside the village of ______, on the island of ______ (I'll fill these in once I talk to Mr. Rud) and got ready for the day. It looked to be a busy one at that, with more and more orders for weapons and armor. After eating, Elratha gathered his equipment, and his training weights. Before pounding the anvil for the rest of the day, he would work on his speed. As Elratha walked out the door, he picked up his Samehada (sharkskin sword) and placed it on his shoulder.

Elratha ran a short distance to a large loosely wooded field. He made it a short way into the field, and stopped. In the blink of an eye, he smashed his samehada through the small tree directly to his right. Kicking off the stump, Elratha went left and spun low. Another small tree was ripped from it's roots at ground level.

"Not good enough," Elratha muttered to himself, "time to put the weights on. Spending countless days in the forge makes me stronger than most, but I am unable to train as often as I would like."

Elratha sat down and took the weights from his pack. He strapped two to his wrists, and twice the weight on each of his legs. With a roar of energy, Elratha jumped up and proceeded to slowly de-forest the pasture.

After some time, Elratha stops and collapses. Breathing heavily he lays there for a short while. Elratha gets up after regaining some stamina and makes his way back to his residence. He eats a small meal and then opens the doors to his forge. Looking down upon the village from his hillside shop, he can already see a Guardian making his way up the path. Elratha starts walking and meets him partway down.

"Ah hello Makura," Elratha notices the broken Bahdrain sword he is carrying, "Didn't I tell you before not to go to smith Bahdrain?" Elratha laughs. "The best smiths in all of Mormura are Torabar! Come, we will get you a replacement that won't break this time."

ooc: ensis start heading towards Mt. Tatu, you will need to meet up with the rest of the PC's, also PM me your location on the map and I will tell you what Island/village your in... don't rush your character to Mt. Tatu though, be realistic, I am gonna say now because the issue has arrised that the Eldest has one-two Gaurdians in various villages as scouts basically that watch over that area and report back every so often, Ensis you can be one of those garrisons with your friend... I would recomend that it is about time for you to report so you begin making your way north.

an eerie silence had fell upon the chamber, only the faint noise of blood trickling from the tables interupted the silence. The vampires had withdrawn to the outskirts of the chamber and were pressed ahainst the outer wall or the passages that led to personnal dwellings. All faced inward and watched silently. The feeling in the room began to change as, one by one their eyes opened for the first time in their new form, the silence remained still for a few more moments until the first of the angry screams echoed off the stone. One of the newly awoken clenched his fists and the veins in his neck throbbed, spilling the last of their blood out of the vicious wounds inflicted on them in the humans last moments alive. Suddenly he snapped the leather wrappings around his wrists and set up, releasing a blood curdling howl... The next generation had awakened.

Volrath waited, knowing that one of the new generation would come fourth, drunk from the power that had been given to them. He had not been in a true fight for a while, so he had a large bloodlust, wanting some practice. He waited patiently near the sacrifical chamber for several hours until 5 new vampires came out. They each looked as though they were full grown men when they were humans before the transformation.

"Tell me, do you feel cursed, blessed, energized, with the new transformation?" Volrath yelled over to the group.

"Who the hell are you?" one of the men called out, ignorant of how powerful Volrath was.

"They call me Volrath." Volrath yelled to the men. A man suddenly came screaming out.

"You! It was you that cursed my daughter and I! You will die! Now I have the power, not you!" The man leapt at Volrath, pulling out a small dagger.

"I killed you as a human, what makes you think I can not kill you as a vampire?" Volrath asked the man, but he continued to lunge at Volrath. Volrath swiftly dodging or blocking the weak blows. "Come now, you can do better then that." Volrath said.

"You have cursed me, and now I shall kill you!" cried the man. Volrath quickly pulled out his wakizashis, blocking a slightly stronger blow then usual.

"See, the effects of the vampire are just taking place. You should have never challenged me." Volrath quickly blocked several blows while speaking.

"You will die!" the man yelled. Volrath blocked a blow one of the man's blows with one wakizashi and and hit the throat of the man with his other.

"Nice suicide attempt, but we need worthless grunts like you around for when the Guardians attack. You're lucky I'm in such a generous mood right now." Volath released his wakizashis. "But please, feel free to tell me your name."

"They call me Mishara."

"Good. Tracking you down and killing you should be much easier now that I know your name." Volrath walked off, hoping to return to his home by mid night. "I wonder how I should kill thsi Mishara once he proves useless?" Volrath thought to himself.

Mishara turned, beginning to walk away, although weak fromhis draining as all new Vampires are he could easily kill a human unarmed. he looked back at Volrath, wondering how long it would be before his human side was completely gone and he saw that creature walking away as an allie.

OOC: I have one thing to say to everything OOC said before. KEFKA PWNS JOO. :)

Ed walked inside the Great Hall. He stood behind a random officer, and recieved a report on the latest jobs that were up for a man like him for hire. It was something that was done every day, and Ed planned to do it every day, until whatever major battles were won by whichever side. He didn't think it bade well for the Gaurdians, personally, but anything was possible.

As he read over the report, it said the usual. Vampires were getting closer and closer, creeping along the landscape... et cetera, et cetera...

Now, the fun part.

Hmm... vampire band A up north... or vampire band B to the west? Both were accused of slaughtering some random town. Both had equal pay on their heads.

It didn't matter. These vampires didn't matter... well most of them, at least. He had to admit that a select few had what it took to beat a Gaurdian of his caliber... but they didn't prove themselves until they were decapacitated and left to get a nasty sunburn the next day.

Oh how they hated sunburns... the sun was something Ed had to get used to, or perish. That was the only choice out in the desert. How he missed it... but duties called him here.

In the end, he picked both. He needed the exersise anyway.

He was out of the Great Hall almost as quickly as he had come in.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------Okay, i hope someone can understand that diagram of Mt. Tatu... let me provide descriptions of each level, so that your characters can wonder about freely and know what is around the area

Spire: The great spire is the symbol of Tarturas, a last monument to his greatness, this collasal monument srests the peak of the mountain and at its vary top the altitude is a whopping 55,000 feet, the mountain makes up for most of this though, the spire itself is around 2,850 feet tall... and is the largest "man"-made object on the planet. The purpose of the Spire is to provide a point which the Gaurdians can over see a vast region, however a good veiw from its top is rare due to the clouds which either envelop it or are down below.

Main Fortress: Although several castle-like structures are scatteered around the mountain this one is the main military structure, it boasts fortified walls and four outer towers, each equiped with trebuchettes capable of launching debris for hundreds of feet considering their location atop the mountain. The keep is also fortified and holds a garrison of 400 Gaurdians who live there rather than in the lower levels of the mountain. The great spire juts up from the center of the keep.

Great Hall: Beneath The Fortress is the great hall, which serves as the Gathering place for all Gaurdians and is home to the Eldests throne. All feasts and ceremonies are held here along with the council of the Eldest where the last seven of Tarturas' original council still meats monthly to share discoveries, observations and thoughts of threat from Vampire attack and more.

Castle Structure: There is no chamber or large room directly below the great hall, but about half way between it and the library a castle is built into the eastern slopes of the mountain, it resembles a smaller version of the fortress, but is oriented to be tall and thin rather than the wider open design of the Main Fortress. At this altitide the grand stair has its longest stretch from the Great Hall to the Library, it is situated on the northern half of the mountain and runs straight down from the great fortress to the Forges and Mines, rarly are journeys made that cover its entire height. From this stair every main passage goes in a straight path to every major room, as they are all located in the center of the Mountain, with more minor rooms scattered around them which the stairs also have passages leading off to.

Library: This huge collection of books has peices dating back to the creation, All the knoledge that the Gaurdians posess is kept here under heavy Gaurd, but any trusted Gaurdian has access to the thousands of tomes

Tower: This large Tower adorns a Northern slope of the Mountain, it is built into the sheer Mormuri's face as it is called, a cliff that hangs near the middle of the mountain on its northern slope. The Tower is defensive, and has a large trebuchette at its top. Many skilled archers live permanantly in this tower.

Last Line of Defence: This is a high wall that encircles the top half of the mountain, its foundations stretch beneath the surface 3 levels, all of which are share a large garrison, these levels also serve as a checkpoint along the great stair, although unless you are in one of the military structures or levels the city seems very civillian, but A Gaurdian's weapons are sacred to him and every Gaurdian is a warrior which will go to battle proudly whenever that night comes.

Castle Structure: About 500 feet below the upper wall a second castle is perched upon the mountains western slopes, it is nearly identical to the Eastern castle higher up.

Main level: This area consists of 5 levels with the bottom one being the top of the Main Wall, which is over a thousand feet high. The Wall serves two purposes, as it is also a circular structure built around and up to the mountain side, creating a large flat area between the edge of the wall and the mountainside where many doors lead into the main level of the Mountain city and various defensive structures such as trebuchettes, towers and small castles are based. The structure starts at ground level, so essentially is the base of the mountain. The space within the main level contains the main collection of homes and is complete with subterrainean roads and buildings that stretch from the floor to the ceiling which is about 20 feet high on all four levels.

Barracks and Armory: This is the final resting place of all weapons and armor as it arrives from the lowest level of Mt. Tatu before it is donned by A gaurdian, each peice is custom, and the Gaurdian that will eventually wear it in battle is always present when their armor and weapons are forged. Also extensive training for Gaurdians is held at these levels, most of it beyond what any mortal could survive.

First Line of Defense: The next major level is Ground level, Where four massive gates are heavily gaurded by soldiers who reside in each gates portcullis structure which is identical for each gate (other than the southern) and consists of two towers and the battlements on top of the roof of the Portcullis. There is a gate for all the cardinal directions. The southern gate is a much more massive and magnificent structure that is even more heavily Gaurded with a small tower on either side and a larger tower atop it's main portcullis.

Dungeons: These levels stretch 400 feet under the ground, everything from humans who pose a minor threat to captured Vampires are kept here along with exiled Gaurdians and various creatures ready to be skinned for fur or scales...

Mines and Forges: Everything Below the Dungeons are the sacred forges of the Gaurdians where the finest weaponry the planet has ever seen have been made and the armor of a Gaurdian. Below the forges are the mines where humans and Gaurdains work alongside eachother both willingly and unwillingly to find the materails needed to make weapons and armor and clear out areas for more additions to the cities... a few areas around the mines are small underground cities home to human laborers, these cities are entirely self contained and in a way are the backbone for the Gaurdians.

The outlying areas around and in between the main levels I have described are all extensions of the subterrainean Gaurdian cities, however most space is solid rock to keep the strength of the mountain in tact and prevent a catastrophic collapse.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

few that was a long essay... but it had to be provided one way or another, now you know where you can go other than the Great Hall!!

The exact details on the relatioships between other human societies and the one inside Mt. Tatu and The Gaurdians will come later, right now my keyboard is tired.

I just drew this up in 5 seconds, it is a basic layout of Mt. Tatu, the scale is screwed though and if you see any differences betwwen it and my diagram at the top of this post trust the diagram not this!!! I only drew it to give you a better picture of what I was trying to describe so use the pic as a guide but fill in whatever you picture from my text around it.
