Changing character appearance

So I created a female Latina chick character. She looked OK on the character creation screen.. then I left the vault and got so engrossed in the game, I just barely went into 3rd person. She looks horrid.

Is there anyway to change my appearance without starting over?

More specifically, I found a save game that has an awesome looking chick in it.. anyway to "duplicate" those settings into my save game?

I noticed a similar problem with one of my characters. I set him up and messed with the skin tones and he looked great, then I got out of the vault and his nose was bright red, he looked like a wino. The lighting for the character creation console really should be more illustrative of how s/he would look in the game.

I used the the showracemenu code and it appears to work, but I was just messing around so I didn't save anything to test the results. Also, there is a "doctor" in Rivet City who has the dialog option "Can you change my face?" but I didn't try it so I don't know if he'll really do it. The robots will change your hair, so maybe the doctor will change your face if you ask.

Press the ~ button to open the console

Type showracemenu and press enter

The character creation screen will appear (may be glitched until you press ~ again to close the console). Doing this in Oblivion would result in your stats being reset to the base values. The "trick" was to make your changes and save the game to a new slot while the console was still open and then reload from the new save, but in Fallout you must close the console to un-glitch the screen. Maybe you can make your changes and then open the console again to save your game, I have not tried it.

One heads up about the showracemenu option is if you use it to actually change your race you seem to lose the bonuses from your perks, Using it just to tweak on your appearance hasn't given me any problems though.

I didn't have this issue. Then again I didn't look. I'll hafta check later.

Happened when my race got changed after a quest and I used the console to change it and my appearance back, If you changed your race and it didn't happen to you the game just hates me lol. Tried it with mods and with them all uninstalled and it hit me both times who knows. Might still be good to save before attempting it though just incase.
