I am currently making a weapon mod which adds serveral new weapons and armor to the game. problem was, i decided to add a few creatures and NPC's to the picture. I had my mod working PERFECTLY, untill i HAD to test out 1 of the creatures, now whenever i try to got to that cell, Which is the ONLY cell i can go to from my current cell, oblivion crashes. I have experienced this problem before when i tried to add custom race NPCs in and whenever i got in the same cell oblivion crashes. Now this wouldn't be a problem, but i HAD to save over my current plugin, and if i close TES CS and open it up again, i can't save over that plugin, and if i make a new plugin, those weapons i made wont work unless i open the first one. And since i didn't want to make them again, i had 1 choice. Make the Dumb creature work.

 

i copied this creature, which is a Volcanic Golum, with the body of the Ice Attronoch, from the ice attronoch, but when i check the animations, all of them are gone... How am i supposed to make this golum work? :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

Generally, using anything from another mod is a bad idea. If you are parenting the creature from one mon within your own, it is doubly so. Mods cannot normally reference eachother, so the game may not be correctly loading this form within your mod. If you are just linking to the meshes used in another mod, this can also be a bad situation if you are not familiar with how that mod works. In this case, I would imagine that the problem is because you have linked to a creature mesh located in a non-standard folder, or one which also contains the animation and skeleton data for that creature. Creature mesh to skeleton/animation linkings are done entirely on a folder basis. Dogs and Wolves have different meshes, but use the same skeleton and animations, so are in the same folder. If you were to be linking to a mesh in the creatures/frostatronach folder, the animations and skeletons should show up within the CS. This goes without saying, but you will also need permission from that author to use that mesh if you plan to release this mod to ANYONE else.

Everything i am using is mine or i have gotten permission for. the problem is that i got the mesh for the ice Attronoch, added the texture on Nifskope, and then put it in my own folder for my mods. but it still doesn't work.. should i add the skeleton & Animations to that folder?

 

 

 

I made everything myself, so there is nothing included from other mods

Easiest solution is to just move the recolor to the default frost atronach folder. Then link it up in the CS. This is so that you only need to share this recolor, and not the animation files, for anyone else to use your mod. It really just makes installing and uninstalling your mod easier in the long run.
