coconut hobo
Hey guys, this is like... my first or second post here, sorry if it is in the incorrect forum! I'll be getting a Radeon HD4850 for Christmas, and I wanted to know if that would be good for Oblivion and Fallout 3. System Specs are (well... they will be): ATi-Radeon HD4850 2 GB RAM AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor, 2.6GHz500 Watt PSU Windows Vista 32 bit I already own Oblivion, and it is probably my absolute favourite game. Only, it destroys my 8500GT, so I wanted an upgrade. I also plan on getting Fallout 3, so I was wondering if you guys think my (future) system will handle it. What I want is maybe 1440 x 900 or 1680 x 1050 or somewhere in between, very high texture settings, decent view distance, and high framerate. If this is too much to ask, let me know. Thanks a ton you guys, anyone who can answer me will really be helping me out. EDIT: Oh, ok. My 9th post :D.
macmert
With that card, you will get more than you want, so dont worry about it :) Maybe a RAM upgrade will be good too...
dretcher2
yeah, that card will be awesome for it. like macmert said, maybe another gig of ram wouldn't hurt. those aren't usually terribly expensive. but with that graphics card, oblivion should run great. coconut hobo
Wow you guys that is awesome! Exactly what I needed (and wanted) to hear. I really look forward to being a part of this community, especially once I get a sweet rig that can handle bethesda's games. Thanks a ton. edit: fixed a couple missing words... And yeah, I'll look into that third gig of ram. I just took a look inside my case to check out the room for the card, and I have 4 slots of memory. This means a single stick of 1 gig instead of stick of 2 gig, and a waste of the old 1 gig... so that is nice.
