Opening a jacket

I'm trying to create an open version of the king jacket in Fallout NV(sort of like what micalov did with the sleepwear in this mod http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/43436) I'm just I'm not sure what tool in blender to use and how to exactly do it.

 

I have used blender quite a few times so I do know what I'm doing in it.

That's easy.

 

Well, relatively easy.

 

First remove all naked body parts from the outfit and import Breezes body (or whatever body you want to use) in a different layer.

 

It's easier to work if you put them in different layers and switch between them.

 

Anyway, split the jacket over the zipper.

 

Play around with the mesh until it looks the way you want it to look.

 

Rig it, export it and attach the NiStencil property in NifSkope for double-sided textures.

 

And the rest is GECK work.
