nonexofxyourxbusiness
Hello, I'm having a problem with my Skyrim Special Edition that I can't seem to find.So I have a couple of mods (140) installed and it all worked perfectly fine the past few weeks that I've been playing again.Yesterday I started the "Ill Met By Moonlight" Quest, talked to Sinding, left the Falkreath Barracks and a few seconds after leaving the building, the game crashed.I checked my Vortex notifications and it told me to get an update for the Audio Overhaul Mod, so I did. Re-opened Skyrim, same problem occured.I went back to Vortex and went through all my mods again, load order, query problems etc. until it was all fine again. Re-opened Skyrim, it crashed.Again, I opened Vortex, checked the Audio Overhaul and it seemed fine. I still wanted to clear it, but the link for it didn't work. So I simply de-installed it and disenabled a connected mod. Back in Skyrim, the game notifed me of missing mods and gave me the option to continue the game without them. Ready to accept minor changes due to that, I started to play, and again, it crashed after a few seconds.Back in Vortex, it didn't notify me of any problems, so I clearly, the problem has to be elsewhere?I looked up the quest itself on Google to see whether other people were maybe having problems with it, too. Maybe Hircine's ring was the problem? Since you can't just take it off, I tried a couple of console commands that offered to remove the item or remove the curse. Both resulted in errors. I closed the console/my inventory, let my character walk a few meters, and the game crashed again. In my game folder I saw the date for my Skyrim installment to be the day of the crash, so my new idea was that a game patch maybe messed with everything. I de-installed the game, re-installed it, fixed the mods. Re-opened Skyrim, it crashed. This time, Vortex did show me a problem again, it was the Audio Overhaul, just like before. The reported error states: "SNCTSave.dll" (Audio Overhaul Skyrim (3.2.0)): reported as incompatible during query The thing is, I never had this problem at earlier stages of the game or with different saves, even when I checked with a different character save after the problem occured. So it somehow has to be related to the quest. I would just go back to an earlier point in the game, but right now, all saves are in that situation at level 55 and the closest earlier one is at level 33. I don't really want to lose all progress. Long story short, whatever I try, I am unable to fix the problem. I am new to all this modding thing since it's the first time I'm doing it semi-alone, and I'm lost. Can anyone help me or at least direct me somewhere that can? Did anyone have similar problems?

Indio21
If you have performed the conflict resolution on your LO with xedit, I'd start the troubleshooting steps of disabling mods in groups of five to ten at a time. Try the game after each in the same area it crashed. When the last group stops the problem start turning them back on one by one until the problem resurfaces. Then start the research on that mod. When I was using vortex I believe if you open that problem with AOS it mentions something about unused files. If that is the case it does nothing to the game it is just a flag vortex throws about them. My plan was to remove them but I switched MMs before doing so and the new one does not care. Good luck!
