AmethystDragon
Props, appreciation, and COOKIES for any who are willing to read through this and help me :D So I was looking to get Mighty Dragons mod and also Dragons diversified. But I can't for the life of me figure how to install them (Separately just in general I mean) first, Dragons diversified. The Dragons Diversified installation instructions: =======================Installation=======================Requirements: A program capable of unpacking .rar files. Extract DragonsDiversified.rar to your Skyrim/Data folder, select 'Data Files' from the Skyrim loader and check the box beside DragonsDiversified.esp. ======================= When I download the RAR file, whats inside is: Scripts folderTextures folderDragonsDiversified.espAnd a read me entitled DragonsDiversifiedNexus The install instructions say to extract the contents of the RAR file into the Skyrim/Data folder. But there is already a folder named "Scripts" in the Data folder. do I replace the already existing Scripts folder with the new Dragons Diversified Scripts folder? ------------ Incase you hadn't guessed by now, I am not the most tech savvy chick in the universe (at least when it comes to Skyrim, which I got like 3 days ago :P) -------------Now for Mighty Dragons. ===============================================1) Extract the folder and choose ONLY ONE sub-folder2) Copy the content of selected subfolder into folder where is TESV.exe file in your computer;3) Activate the esp/s with NMM or other utilities.============================================== This is Greek to me, no idea what it's talking about here. Most mods, all you have to do is take a couple bsa/esp files and throw them in the Skyrim/Data folder. Can anyone explain how to install this mod also? I prefer installing mods manually usually, as opposed to downloading a program that does it for me. Though I am not opposed to getting one instead. --- If anyone can help me with this problem, I would appreciate it much. Step by step instructions on how to install either are also appreciated... c:
MShoap13
Yes, merge (or overwrite on XP it will merge their contents). The second mod has multiple options (each with a unique set of files) all stored under one download. Unzip it to a temporary location, find the option you'd like and copy it's contents over to your Skyrim directory. If it asks to overwrite any folders choose yes, if it asks to overwrite specific files, pay attention and choose either yes or no depending on the situation. It's typically best to extract mods to a temporary location and then copy and paste the parts that need to be in your \Skyrim\ directory while leaving out stuff like readme's, optional files, etc.. Then clean up your temporary location (just delete anything you didn't copy over) and keep the .zip/.rar around as a backup in-case anything goes wrong or you'd like to uninstall the mod.
