I don't need to look you up, and it most certainly is not absurd to point out tools you can use to mod the game yourself...nor does it mean anything to me or make my post incorrect, or for that matter hasty, if you have posted one mod or 1000 mods in one game or 1000 games.

 

The points are still valid and correct as they are addressed. Good on you if you have made mods, keep it up. You don't get a trophy for it, and it doesn't make your assertion regarding the contents of the communities mods any more valid. If the "make your own mods" point is something you have the jump on then great, next step, learn to use the search engine. :thumbsup:

 

I am not trying to attack you man. Your opinion is what it is. I am just saying there are ways to work around the issue that are a lot more productive then a generalizing, negative, and erroneous OP about something that whether you like it or not means quite a bit to a lot of people that have put a lot of time into to what they share here.

 

Pro tip: Forum profiles are not a good way to judge a person. Example: My forum profile says I haven't uploaded anything here. You have assumed I don't mod. Perhaps I don't share? Perhaps I don't upload here but under another name at another site? Or perhaps I do upload here but on another profile. *shrug*

Of course not. There is a glaring inconsistency to the point of being ridiculous. It is night time and her dark eye shield would adversely affect her PER, yet FO3 does not lower that stat in such a situation.

Im going to agree with this topic really...to a point. Yes i see eye to eye with the opening post. Maybe there are too many nude mods out there from oblivion, and gee...with a medieval fantasy game as open as oblivion..it was asking for it. I'm actually guilty of using HGEC body replacer for oblivion, but thats all I had because the stock body seriously looked like a bad case of malnutrition and the underwear looked......used for years....eww....

 

But one must remember that the same people who are modding for oblivion will mod for fallout3 because they are essentially the same thing down to the core, literally in most cases.

 

All i can say really is just...well, If you don't like it, don't download it or rate it. What i do is just roll my eyes, sigh, and move on to the next file.

 

One thing you can do to avoid it is just turn off the option to view adult only material, and for the love of god don't dare enter the image share section.

 

On the other hand, yes, there are tons of gamers out there who do want to see nudity and adult content in their game. That is entirely their prerogative, and as long as the demand is there, the mods will show up.

 

Long story short is just ignore it.

Meh, I'm a 20 year old male, and I figure if I am going to spending hours staring at somethings ass, It better be a womans, It better be perky, and it better be either skin-tight or revealing. That being said, I understand and respect your point of view, and you have a point. I played Oblivion, and while I perfered revealing armour, I never went with the ones showing nipples or genitallia, because I thought it was toooo ridiculous. Almost? I'll go for. Completely? Nah. So like everyone else said, Don't download if you don't want. I'm glad you apologized for stereotyping anyone/everyone.

I'm also in the crowd of using body replacers, but still, as it's been stated previously, considering all things, having them aint all that bad. It generally adds to the realism which is something I do want. In Oblivion I've never used any of the revealing clothing mods as they often don't suit my tastes/go way overboard, instead I stick to the armors that have been designed for the specific body type. I can understand teasing suits etc, but full on nudity just didn't strike me on a game like Oblivion and doesn't strike me in FO either. Body models? Sure I'll download and use them, when armors/clothing come that use that body model and aren't far too revealing. If it's too revealing to my tastes and doesn't suit the game in my opinion, I'll just pass it by and let those use it who want to. There are plenty of good examples about good looking armor that isn't revealing, but still looks 'sexy' in Oblivion and hopefully it'll be the same with FO later.

What I'd like to see is some clothing and body mods that look good, without being over the top. Considering the normal female textures in oblivion and fallout 3 look like a man with a woman's face, boobs, and slightly wider hips, I'd welcome a more feminine looking body. It doesn't have to be nude, but who cares if it is.

 

As for the whole "I can mod, look at my profile, you can't mod look at yours"... well, my e-penis is bigger than your e-penis.

Heck, I was wondering about this myself. I think it detracts from the survival feel of it (nothing like running around in the buff for an awesome 4th degree "What Ozone Layer?" wasteland sunburn), so that's why I don't download them. Easy-peasey. I don't like it, I don't use it. Nuff' said.

 

Besides, I have those 40gigs of porn I download every day to look at if I want a fap session. :rolleyes:

 

Those 40gigs are fine, in my opinion. 10gig of Oblivion porn is silly. In my opinion. It's a video game. Video game. I play video games to enjoy the world of Fallout in this case, not to watch boobs and stuff. If you really need that, and don't have a girlfriend/partner, watch porn.

 

Yes, yes, of course, this is just me rambling and being annoyed with the overwhelming amount of Oblivion nude mods.

Maybe I'm too strict on this particular matter. Normally, everybody can do/play/download what he wants imho. But these unbelievable amounts of Oblivion mods is just merely annoying me. And I don't want that in Fallout 3. And I'm looking on TESNexus. It's more than 10%, that's for sure.

 

I'm not afraid of anyone raping my woman, since she can take care of herself, and I'm there to help her, I don't drink coca cola, I don't vote and I don't watch Fox News. And I'm a perv myself ;)

 

But.. video games and all this stuff? Little nudity yes, but tons of 'sexy' clothing? Nah. As Serviche said, it detracts from the survival feel.

 

Now the thing is, I don't care what other people think about my opinion on this. I shouldn't expect anybody from agreeing with me if I'm so stuck on my opinion. I had hoped there would be a few souls who have the same opinion on this, but obviously, there aren't. I tried, I failed, that simple.

There is nothing wrong with being a homosexual male (or heterosexual female). I think nude male models add just as much realism as nude female models.

All foolishness aside, and I have partaken, the Colonel has a point. When I had free time and was doing a mod for Morrowind (it went no where), I did outrageous things, very un-lore like things, but maintained a thread of believability. Or so I would argue using dialogue to fill in the ideas if I had continued. Gratuitous nudity distracts from games, but when it is consistent, give me the raw feed, XXX version most likely to be consistent with reality. I don't expect women to be running around a wasteland with Brazilians or no armpit hair. Maybe in the Tower, but not in the wasteland.

 

Naked people, armor that wouldn't even protect from the environment much less combat, and nasty animations (while amusing) in the context of a post-apocalyptic world can distract from the game if not done in a conscientious manner. If I kill an enemy and strip the body for caps, I expect it to be naked. I own the corpse. If there are witnesses, I also expect word to get around about my behavior.

 

FO3 is a potpourri of ideas regarding the value of life--even the vault builders, who sold vaults under the guise of valuing life, toyed with the idea and the reality. Where exploiting base instinct might make caps to survive another day, I expect a lot of nudity. Where there is a character love interest, I expect the option. In a wrecked city with enemies, nudity is not a good idea when better options are available. Nudity and life seem to be more linked in a world of extreme scarcity and lawlessness, as if FO3 is questioning what makes us tick and are we really so far removed from savagery.

 

While I'd like to see the environment expand too, I'll just be glad people care enough to mod and are willing to share. I'll just download what appeals to my tastes (and leave some feedback, I've been bad about that) and not download anything that would distract from my game. Choice is good.
